District 225 is looking for a Registered Nurse to work summer school from June 9 to July 24, 2025, from 8 am to 1:30 pm. Prior experience in schools is preferred. Main responsibilities would include providing direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, and state and local mandates.
Position details are as follows:
- Location: Glenbrook South High School
- Semester 1: June 9, 2025 – June 26, 2025
- Semester 2: July 7, 2025 – July 24, 2025
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday (except as noted below)
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Total Days per Session: 12
- Note: No classes on Thursday, June 19, 2025 (state/federal holiday). Classes will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025.
Compensation: - For those holding an Associate's degree in Nursing:
- Semester 1: $32.56
- Semester 2: $33.13
- For those holding a Bachelor's degree in Nursing:
- Semester 1: $34.60
- Semester 2: $35.20
Minimum Qualifications: - Required current Illinois Registered Nurse License.
- Required of a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Nursing
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Required current certification in CPR and knowledge of the use of AED’s.
- Certification by the Illinois Department of Public Health in vision and hearing screening. (The school district will sponsor employees who do not have this certification to receive the requisite training from the Illinois Department of Public Health.)
- Preferred school-based experience.
