Operations Manager
Overview:
- Coordinates the delivery of related supplies, assessment, and ongoing improvement of facilities, operations, safety and security, and Custodial/Cleaning programs related to cleaning & disinfecting of facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Keeps the Director of Business & Operations informed about ongoing activities and emerging issues
Shares knowledge about advances with operational procedures and equipment technology
Collaborates with Supervisor to develop plans, programs and procedures that ensure efficient facilities operations. Analyzes and evaluates facility operations and programs. Recommends and initiates new or improved practices and procedures
Supervises the Custodian & Cleaning staff. Ensures District’s Building Standards are being followed and applied consistently throughout the District
Ensures that the proper cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms and related spaces are disinfected and cleaned daily according to CDC & CCBH standards
Ensures staff respond according to CDC & CCBH standards when notified of infected staff or students
Assist Building Principals with Safety and Security initiatives including security staff deployment and coordination with other departments goals
Assists the Director of Business & Operations with work order management by providing daily oversight and coordination of Custodians, Trades & Grounds work orders
Manages the Districts Facility Use program by outside groups supporting the Districts Principals.
Coordinates and oversees the procurement of operations supplies and materials
Participates in labor management meetings, staff disciplinary procedures and other Human Resources functions as assigned by the Director of Business & Operations
Ensures effective coordinator and communication between building staff, trades, grounds staff and contractors performing work in schools
Plans and coordinates staff in-service training for assigned staff
Maintains the professional knowledge required to assure excellence in job performance with a special focus on the content area of the position and on the multi-cultural aspects of managing and interacting with a diverse work-force
Contributes and promotes School District and departmental goals
Upholds applicable local, state and federal laws
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma
Five (5) years of successful experience in building/operations work with minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory capacity
Knowledge of maintenance and operations of boilers, air conditioning and related equipment
A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
Available to work irregular hours and/or a non-traditional schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
College or technical training
State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operations and Stationary Engineer's Licenses
Previous experience working in a multicultural environment.
