Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Business Services and Operations, performs planning, construction, maintenance, renovation and repair duties in a primary trade area.
Job Summary: 8.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 260 days/year, 7:30 am-3:30 pm
Essential Functions:
- Performs electrician duties (e.g., planning, construction, installation, maintenance, etc.).
- Installs, alters and/or repairs electrical components. Replaces fixtures, circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wiring, etc. Performs tests to ensure that circuits and equipment function properly.
- Installs coaxial and/or fiber optic cables for computers and telecommunications equipment.
- Provides technical/manual skill in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of buildings, equipment systems and fixtures.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma. Trade skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience
Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and supplies weighing at least 70 pounds and perform physically demanding work
Complies with a drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
Good motor coordination, finger and manual dexterity and physical ability to perform all of the essential function of the job
Verbal ability and good communication skills
Skilled in operating simple hand power tools
Valid Ohio driver's license
Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance and repair usually gained through two (2) years of on-the-job training/experience in applicable trades areas
Familiarity with federal, state and local building code regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- State of Ohio Electric License
