Job Summary:
The Middle School Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Teacher at Camdenton Middle School is responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on STEM-based instruction in alignment with the PLTW curriculum. The teacher will foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment, preparing students with foundational knowledge in engineering, technology, and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and teach PLTW curriculum, ensuring alignment with Camdenton R-III School District and Missouri state educational standards.
Utilize project-based learning strategies to engage students in hands-on STEM activities.
Develop lesson plans that promote creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Provide instruction using various teaching methodologies, including digital tools and lab-based learning.
Maintain and manage classroom equipment, ensuring proper usage and safety.
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate real-world STEM applications and career connections into instruction.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and industry professionals to enhance learning experiences.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Participate in professional development opportunities related to PLTW and STEM education.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, Engineering, or a related field.
Valid Missouri teaching certification/license as required by the Camdenton R-III School District.
PLTW certification or willingness to obtain certification through PLTW training.
Successfully complete course-, unit-, or module-specific PLTW Teacher Training for each course they intend to instruct.
Meet all federal, state, and local requirements to teach each respective PLTW course.
Successfully complete prerequisites prior to attending training events for a given course or unit.
Experience in teaching STEM-related subjects preferred.
Strong classroom management skills.
Ability to use instructional technology and digital learning tools effectively.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to fostering an engaging and innovative learning environment.
Terms of Employment:
Standard teacher contract with salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
Salary Starting: $42,500.00
