The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an Early Childhood Electives Teacher who will be responsible for leading and teaching all elective subjects, including Art, Music, and Physical Education (PE), for preschool-aged children. This position plays a critical role in fostering children’s creativity, physical development, and fine motor skills while creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. The teacher will work collaboratively with parents and staff to support the holistic development of each child.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Art, Music, Physical Education, or a related field.
Teaching certification or licensure (preferred).
Experience teaching preschool-aged children in one or more elective subjects.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with young children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Art Instruction:
Teach foundational art techniques such as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpting to nurture creativity.
Select age-appropriate books and art supplies for lessons and projects.
Plan and execute hands-on art projects, including class exhibitions.
Observe and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to encourage growth.
Music Instruction:
Introduce basic music theory and teach children to read and understand music.
Plan and conduct engaging music lessons to help children explore rhythm, melody, and sound.
Instilling confidence and teamwork.
Physical Education (PE):
Develop interactive and age-appropriate physical education programs to improve motor skills.
Plan and manage physical activities, balancing play, movement, and structured lessons.
Track children’s physical and developmental milestones, adapting lessons to individual needs.
Foster a love of physical activity and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
General Duties:
Monitor children’s progress and maintain clear records to report milestones and achievements.
Ensure a safe and organized classroom environment, maintaining proper care of materials and equipment.
Contribute to preschool family nights by incorporating activities related to music or art.
Terms of Employment:
Standard teacher contract with salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
Salary:
$42,500.00
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel and in accordance with the District Comprehensive School Improvement Improvement Plan.
