Performs repairs as needed on school system facilities to include but not be limited to plumbing, electrical, nutrition equipment, carpentry, flooring, boilers, door hardware, painting, and roofing.
Relocates materials, furniture, and equipment as needed.
Attends in-service and/or workshops designed to improve skills as needed.
Prepares for annual inspections of all sites (fire systems, boilers, elevators, etc.).
Generates work schedules based on computerized data base work orders.
Orders parts and warehouses parts in an organized manner.
Takes proper care of tools, vehicles, and equipment necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
Follows ordering procedures, collects bills of purchased materials and parts and delivers to the proper personnel.
Initiates work tickets for preventative maintenance or unsafe conditions.
Uses technology and closes work tickets in a timely manner.
Reads blueprints and plans.
Recommends the type of equipment and supplies for purchase.
Obeys all traffic laws and maintains a satisfactory driving record.
Responds to emergency calls in a timely manner at all times day and night.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by their supervisor.
Has the ability to work independently.
Practices safe practices and procedures.
Organizes documentation (records of repairs, maintenance logs, costs, warranties) to ensure local, state and federal laws are met.
Keeps a clean and organized working environment.
Has knowledge to use a variety of tools and equipment in the work area in a safe manner.
