Requirements:

27J Schools is currently seeking to hire a Speech Language Pathologist to provide services to students District Wide. This is a 1.0 FTE, or full-time position.
 
Responsibilities:
 
1. Provide direct and indirect services/supports to students, Preschool - Transition Age in accordance with IDEA B.
2. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to conduct assessments for students referred to evaluation.
3. Provide short-term Rtl (Response to Intervention) supports when appropriate based on the Problem Solving Team's Intervention Plan.
4. Bill Medicaid as appropriate.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Special Services License issued by CDE; Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or similar field required
• Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Good communicator, creative and takes initiative
• Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills
• Evidence of organization, planning and time management skills
• Self-starter and able to follow through on assigned tasks
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required  
 
Experience:
 
1. Experience working as a speech/language specialist in a public school setting preferred, but not required
2. Experience with augmentative communication devices
3. Experience and/or training in providing direct intervention for students identified as Autistic, either as a Service Provider or as an integrated Service Provider to other special education programs
4. Experience in student assessment and data collection

27J Schools is currently seeking a Teacher - Visually Impaired/Orientation & Mobility Specialist.  This is a .5 FTE (half-time) position.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Itinerant teacher of Preschool through Transition age providing instruction and training in skills related to blindness, providing academic support as well as, orientation and mobility instruction for students with vision disabilities as outlined on the IEP.  Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team for initial and triennial evaluations of students with vision disabilities. Complete the educational and vision assessment and reporting for IEP meetings.
 
Qualifications: 
1. Licensing as required by the Colorado Department of Education. 
2. Experience working with and understanding the needs of vision impaired students. 
3. Ability to provide training to students in home and school and neighborhood orientation and mobility through concept development, sensory development and orientation techniques.
4. Experience in completing functional vision, literacy modality, and orientation and mobility assessments and maintaining records and files. 
5. Ability and experience to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
6. Ability and willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
7. Proof of Braille competency is required within one year of date of hire.
