2024-2025 Salary Range:  $26.00/hr.  

Description:    The substitute Nurse will fill in for the regular school nurse and will assist in the individualized care and daily educational program of students with special health care needs.  Individualized care may include, but is not limited to performing delegated nursing duties within the scope of practice for an LPN, such as medication administration, diabetes management, and catheterization.  Position may cover needs at multiple school sites.
 
•      Under the supervision of the district nurse and per student health plans, perform delegated nursing duties
 
•      Assists in non-invasive procedures such as tube feedings, nebulizers, etc.
 
•      Understands and is aware of students' medical needs; may assist in administering medications, including record keeping, and record distribution.
 
•      Communicates with family and/or school district employees.
 
•     Treats all matters of school business in a confidential manner.

Salary Range:   $30 per hour for noon duty substitute coverage.  Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.

Description:
This position involves working with other members of the lunch team to supervise students in the cafeteria and on the play area.  Schedule is approximately 15 hours per week.

Qualifications:   High school diploma or GED plus two years post secondary education, or ability to meet NCLB requirements,
Successful candidates have an interest in working with children, are consistent in their supervision, demonstrate good role modeling, and are patient.  Previous successful work with elementary school students is preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
This role involves working inside the cafeteria and outside on the play area during lunch times.

2024-2025 SALARY RANGE: $22.00/HR or $165.00/Day.  Guest teachers will qualify for an additional $10 per day once they work a minimum of 26 full days.
 
DESCRIPTION:    Performs regular teacher's class plan while the teacher is absent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
•      Assumes the responsibilities for instructing classes when a teacher is absent.
•      Assumes all other responsibilities for that teacher during the time the teacher is absent.
•      Prepares lesson plans with assistance, as directed by an administrator, when lesson plans are not available in the classroom.
•      Maintains appropriate records including checking test papers, recording grades, student assignments for homework, projects and the necessary clerical work required to  maintain       student records for a teacher who is absent.
•      Provides assistance for students who need special help on those days when no teacher is absent.
•      Provides for individualized and small group assistance for students as indicated by lesson plans.

Preference towards individuals able to accept Guest Teacher assignments on very little notice the day of assignment.  Preference towards individuals willing to accept positions in multiple locations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Supervises students and oversees aides for instructional purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:    Reference checks and criminal background checks will be conducted on applicants.  

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED as required by District policy.  Bachelor's degree and current Montana Teaching Certificate preferred.  Long term substitute teaching applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and current Montana Teaching Certificate with specific endorsement.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral presentation skills in a concise, well-planned manner to a variety of audiences (students, parents, and other staff members).  Ability to read and effectively interpret lesson plans, curriculum, District policy, IEP's, handbooks, etc.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Trustees policies.
