Position Overview
The kitchen Assistant/helper is expected to help serve and clean up after every lunch. You are expected to assist where needed on a daily basis and follow written work orders in the serving line, kitchen & dish room. Also you are expected to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere for all fellow employees, students and staff members.
Essential Job Functions
Arrive & clock in at appropriate time 10:00 am
Set up all lines & dish room for meal service
Work you assigned area of the serving line, cashier or dish room during meal times
Help keep Cafeteria area & equipment clean, wipe up all spills immediately
Help with dishes, pots & pans and run them through the dishwasher
Requirements
Wear appropriate clothing, shoes & hair restraint (all hair is to be contained in hair restraint)
Do not wear jewelry (except a wedding band) No visible piercing will be allowed
Complete all required training in a timely manner & do the mandated yearly instructional training of 4 hours required by the USDA for all kitchen helpers
Follow all safety standards & sanitation standards for food service
Non-essential Job Functions
Be cooperative and help others when time permits
Inform Manager or Food service director when equipment is not working properly or you used the last item of any product
Help others wherever you are needed
