Primary Purpose: Responsible for day-to-day on-site leadership and supervision of Operations staff to support the department’s overall general maintenance of facilities, grounds, equipment, and transportation services that support district operations. Assist the director with long range planning, contractors,purchasing, regulatory compliance, and Emergency Operations.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements or ability to obtain credentials within 90 days of hiring
Ability to become licensed as a Texas Commissioned Security Officer within 180 days of hiring
Ability to complete NIMS training: ICS-100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 400, IS 700 & IS 800 within one year of hiring
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and extended hours to support student activities
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of building repair, maintenance, grounds, and student transportation Ability to direct, supervise, evaluate and counsel personnel
Ability pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Experience:
Four years experience in a craft field or related business environment
Pay Range: $58,650 - $84,416
Facilities Maintenance - Assign work to staff and oversee completion. Initiate contract repair when work cannot be performed by district staff.
- Assign priority to work orders and process them. Work cooperatively with principals and directors to schedule and complete repairs.
- Estimate cost of repair and maintenance projects including labor, materials, and other related costs.
- Assist staff to complete assignments as needed.
- Monitor supply inventories and budgets.
- Develop maintenance plans.
Transportation
- Monitor and troubleshoot problems such as traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Communicate route changes to stakeholders.
- Design an efficient transportation routing and staffing system that includes extra-curricular activities.
- Investigate all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, student misbehavior and mechanical problems.
- Ensure that all regulatory requirements are met including department drug testing requirements.
Inspection
- Regularly inspect all district buildings, facilities, equipment and vehicles and initiate repairs as needed.
- Conduct on-site inspection of completed repair projects. Monitor and inspect contract work.
- Maintain a system of facility inspection and feedback for campus custodians.
Safety
- Provide training and orientation to all staff in safety procedures and proper use of equipment and vehicles.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
- Participate in development of the district’s EOP and be prepared to take an active role in responding to emergencies as needed.
Inventory and Equipment
- Prepare, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles and equipment. Ensure maintenance is completed and equipment and vehicles are in safe operating condition. Recommend replacement of existing equipment when necessary.
16. Conduct regular inventory of physical equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records. Order tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Other
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of department budget.
- Assist in recruiting, screening, selection, training, and evaluation of Operations employees.
- Maintain accurate information for payroll reporting (timecards, tardiness, and absenteeism).
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Respond to feedback and provide great customer service.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise the work and issue work assignments to staff. Evaluate staff, recommend hiring, termination, and deliver corrective action as a result of investigation.
