    Salary: Based on NC Teaching Salary Schedule
    Qualifications: MUST hold an NC teaching license, bachelors in education, employment contingent upon NC teaching licensure

    Description: This position requires a dynamic individual to teach at the elementary school level. Applicants must have a working knowledge of the NC Standards and Grade Expectations and be willing to work with a diverse population of students. The ideal candidate will be certified to teach in NC and will have a strong background in content as well as proven classroom management and instructional strategies. We are seeking an individual who is willing to be part of a professional learning community to support the education of all students. Master's Degree preferred, but not required.   A completed application must include: profile, letter, resume, transcripts, three CURRENT references, tests and certifications.
     
    • Ability to develop lesson plans and successfully instruct students in theories, methods and tasks
    • Ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
    • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
    • Knowledge of appropriate learning psychology, styles and strategies
    • Strong public speaking and oral presentation skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills 
    • Advanced technology skills to track student attendance and grades and present creative lessons
    • Leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages

    1. Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom
    2. Preparing lessons, units and projects to complete learning objectives
    3. Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, units and projects
    4. Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students
    5. Encouraging students to explore learning opportunities and career paths
    6. Creating, assigning and grading various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays and projects
    7. Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention
    8. Tracking and evaluating student academic progress
    9. Leading parent-teacher meetings
    10. Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers and supervisors
    11. Managing student behavior
    12. Creating a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment
    13. Communicating regularly with parents
    14. Helping students improve study methods and habits
    ?15. Administering tests to evaluate students’ progress
