JOB DESCRIPTION
The K-12 Assessment TSA position will manage the logistics of K-12 assessments required by the school district and/or state as well as supporting district benchmark assessments. In addition, this position will produce organized data from assessment results and student demographics and train teachers and administrators regarding the use of data to identify best practices. There will also be an expectation to maintain regularly requested data through spreadsheets, state & district systems, data dashboards, and other data tools.   
   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Work with schools’ teams designated to analyze school data to support school priorities, (Leadership Teams, Teacher teams, and Intervention teams) to co-develop and support plans to ensure data is available to identify best practices.
• Learn new technology programs that organize assessment logistics and data collection.
• Work with directors, principals, and teachers to develop data that supports school and district goals. 
• Provide accurate data to the right people at the right time in the right format that is most helpful. 
• Assist in state testing administration and data analysis.
• Establish and support the best practices in assessment and data use.
• Assist and help update the K-12 Assessment Website 
• Work collaboratively with other departments (i.e. Curriculum, Student Supports, CTE, Special Education, and District Administration) and schools to implement evidence-based practices to increase the academic achievement of all students. 
• Support schools, teams, and teachers as they use data to discover positive outliers from which they can learn.
• Facilitate results oriented decision making, including coaching, teaching, and school/district administration. An ability to collaborate with all the different stake-holders about data and the use of evidence of learning.
  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Current Teaching Certification required
• Coaching experience/endorsement preferred
• Experience analyzing data
• Working knowledge and use of Mastery Connect, Excel, Data Studio, SQL
• Must be skilled in working with diverse groups, building consensus and maintaining focus on student needs
• Requires ability to communicate clearly orally and in written form
• Must be able to take initiative, work independently, be flexible and be a collaborative team player

• meet DAILY with groups of 3-4 students in 1st and 2nd grade according to school needs and district instruction by implementing a systematic intervention to deliver effective and explicit instruction in targeted skills and strategies. provide Tier III intervention
• in literacy for those students who may not be responding to Tier II intervention.
 

MONITORING, ANALYZING AND REPORTING DATA
The reading specialist will
 
• maintain Acadience Mentor training in order to support school teams and administration in accessing student data and understanding testing procedures.
• train and support aides and teachers in administering Acadience Progress Monitoring and determining and adjusting Pathways of Progress.
 

MAINTAINING PROFESSIONALISM
The reading specialist will
 
• maintain a high level of professionalism while working with students, parents, teachers and administration.
• attend weekly professional development at the district office and seek out coaching opportunities.

The job of Testing Support Assistant is done for the purpose/s of administering standardized assessments to elementary students to help teachers identify students who may need academic support and intervention. This Job reports to Assigned Supervisor.

Essential Functions
• Administers a sequence of teststo students K-12 for the purpose of evaluating academic development of children and/or determining eligibility for additional services.
• Attends department and in-service trainings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
• Performs site visits at multiple schools throughout Alpine School District for the purpose of providing assessments as required.
• Record student test responses using ASD provided electronic devices for the purpose of providing information to other staff to determine appropriate student placement and/or referral.
• Troubleshoots site testing problems for the purpose of resolving issues and/or escalating for resolution.
• Administration (WIDA, Acadience, GT, Kindergarten)
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Qualification:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Job related experience is desired.
16+ years of age
