PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Meet and instruct assigned class in the locations and at the time designated.
2. Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs and abilities of the students.
3. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
4. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
5. Set and encourage students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
6. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and – in harmony with the goals – establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate these objectives to the students.
7. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that is consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and meets the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
8. Strive to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
9. Assess the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
10. Diagnose the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis and seek the assistance of district specialists as required.
11. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
12. Maintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
13. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct.  Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
14. Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
15. Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers and evaluate their job performance cooperatively with department heads.
16. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
17. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:
 
Work with students, staff and/or the Building Principal in support of all aspects of the MCDAC Program’s general operation procedures.  Duties include, but are not limited to, instruction and/or direction of individuals/groups of students using research-based materials consistant with the LIFESKILLS/QUEST curricula.  Additionally, work with Building Principal and other school personnel as to the general operations/direction of the program in promoting positive public relations.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
1. High school graduate or equivalent and current Counselor/Teacher Licensed preferred.
2. Good organizational/communication skills.  Ability to communicate clearly and articulately.
3. Ability to work cooperatively with other personnel.
4. Ability to give and follow directions.
5. Ability to perform clerical skills including, but not limited to, filing, copying and recordkeeping.
6. Must enjoy working with school-age students.  Must have patience and be cheerful.

General Description: 
 
Will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager and will be directed by the head custodian in the performance of duties which relate to maintaining the school buildings at a high level of cleanliness, safety and good repair.  In addition to regular cleaning duties will interact with the Custodial Manager, head custodian, building principal, district personnel, community members, students and rental groups, to insure that their needs and requirements are provided for, while promoting good public relations.  Promote health and safety practices and procedures consistent with OSHA, PERRA, ORC and OAC.
 
Qualifications:
 
1. Valid driver's license.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Experience in general cleaning and building service operations preferred.
4. Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize tasks.
5. The ability to perform minor repairs, and a willingness to work and cooperate with others.
6. Able to lift 55 pounds unassisted.
7. Able to operate, a variety of power machinery and/or tools relative to the cleaning of buildings throughout the district.
8. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions/policies.
9. Able to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.
