    Pay Rate:  $15.77 - $20.26

    Needs to have ESEA Certification through ODE Educational Aide Permit.


    To be eligible for an ESEA endorsement you need one of the following:  
    • An associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
    • The examination for paraprofessionals prescribed by the State Board of Education (ParaPro Assessment). Candidates must request their test scores be reported directly to the Ohio Department of Education from the Educational Testing Service.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
    2. Two years of child care or aide certification preferred.
    3. Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
    4. Able to use a computer.
    5. Good organization skills.
    6. Ability to work co-operatively with other personnel.
    7. Ability to perform clerical skills including, but not limited to filing, copying, and record keeping.
    8. Must be punctual.
    9. A working knowledge of devices and equipment commonly used in public schools.
    10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    11. Ability to successfully complete CPR/First Aid training.
    12. Ability to work with a variety of student disabilities.
    13. Ability to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.
    14. Experience working with children with emotional and physical disabilities preferred.
    15. Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted.
    16. Ability to operate wheelchairs and other mechanical devices designed to aid the student with a disability; or possess the ability to learn.
    17. Ability to communicate clearly and articulately.
    18. Validation of qualifications as determined by interview.
    19. Other relevant criteria determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or designee.
    20. Ability to attend Restraint training per ORC.
