    ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY
     
     
    POSITION:                       Itinerant Elementary Alternative Learning Center Teacher
     
    LOCATION:                      Lewis County Schools
                                          
    CERTIFICATION:            Must Possess A Valid West Virginia Elementary Education and Special Education Certification and Alternative Education                                                Certification. If applicant does not hold the Special Education &/or Alternative Education Certification, he/she must quality                                                and secure certification.
     
    REQUIREMENTS:            1.    Experience or knowledge in working with At-Risk students
                                              2.    Experience or understanding of de-escalation strategies
    JOB DESCRIPTION:     

         1. Provide Support and PD for staff members when they don't have students
    1. Collaborate with students' teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive behavioral supports for ALC students
     
    1. Prepare and implement behavioral/social lessons based upon students' individual needs
    2. Participate in SAT, IEP, and 504 meetings as needed
    3. Reports to ALC Principal and building principal (as needed)
    4. Regularly communicate with students' parents/guardians
    5. Support teachers, students, and parents/guardians during the transition process (both into ALC setting and out to school environment)
    6. Collaborate with classroom teachers for student and classroom lessons and resources
     
    SALARY:                         Commensurate with Certification and Experience
     
    TERM:                             200-days (prorated for the 2024-2025 school year)
     
    REPORTS TO:                 Principal
     
    AVAILABLE:                    2024-2025 School Year
