    TITLE:   Carpenter II
     

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:    Personnel classified as a journeyman carpente

     

    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:    Director of Buildings and Grounds

     

    SELECTION:                                       
    The position is filled by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools.

     

    SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT:   Salary  -  Based on service personnel’s salary  

     

    TERM:    Employment term is 200-261 days

     

    FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
     

     
    1. Comply with shop and equipment safety rules.

    2. Correct safety hazards.

    3. Determine availability of machines, supplies, and materials.

    4. Inspect shop equipment and arrange for maintenance.

    5. Clean and maintain work area and leave it in safe condition.

    6. Develop a materials list used for each job.

    7. Work with blueprints to do layouts, measurements, markings, and arrangement of materials.

    8. Cut and shape wood, plastic, ceiling tile, fiberglass, and drywall using hand and power tools.

    9. Construct stud and sheathing wall forms.

    10. Erect plywood panel wall forms.

    11. Construct stair forms.

    12. Install beams and metal studs.

    13. Install reinforcement steel.

    14. Frame, align, and brace walls.

    15. Frame door and window openings.

    16. Install floor and ceiling joists.

    17. Install backing foir hanging fixtures and cabinets.

    18. Install exterior wall sheathing.

    19. Install diagonal sub-floors.

    20. Set metal door and window frames for masonry construction.

    21. Install common, hip, and hip jack rafters.

    22. Install composite strip shingles.

    23. Install composite shingles on a ridge cap and in a valley.

    24. Install roof and ridge vents.

    25. Install gutters and downspouts.

    26. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or immediate supervisor may from time to time, assign.
     

     

     
       


      TITLE:                                                           Locksmith

       

       

       

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                   Passing scores on WVDE approved testing.

      SALARY AND EMPLOYMENT                 Salary  -  Based on service personnel’s salary schedule. 
      TERM:

       

       

       

      FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

       
      1. Maintains all locks in the county school system in good working order.
      2. Ensures keys are cut properly for all locks.
      3. Repairs and installs panic hardware to insure safe operation.
      4. Serves when called in emergency situations outside of regular work day.
      5. Maintains positive work habits.
      6. Maintains and/or upgrades skills.
      7. Performs duties efficiently and productively.
      8. Repairs and opens locks.
      9. Changes lock combinations using hand tools and special equipment.
      10. Disassembles locks such as padlocks, safe locks, and door locks.
      11. Repairs or replaces worn tumblers, springs and other parts.
      12. Shortens tumblers using files; and inserts new or repaired tumblers into locks to change combinations.
      13. Cuts new or duplicate keys, using key cutting machine.
      14. Picks locks when no keys are available.
      15. Opens safe locks.
      16. Keeps records of locks and keys.
      17. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or immediate supervisor may from time to time, assign.
