Job Description:
 
• Performs routine cleaning duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming dusting, and removing refuse.
• Replenishing building lavatory and miscellaneous supplies, performs routine
• minor mechanical work such as replacing fluorescent lights and maintaining cleaning equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, furniture repairing, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs, operation and maintenance of boiler equipment, and roof patching.
• Miscellaneous outside grounds work including mowing, raking, snow removal and cleanup.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:
 
High School Graduate or equivalency preferred.
 
Ability to read and write English, ability to understand simple directions and
assignments, mechanical aptitude, working knowledge and experience in
building maintenance and cleaning work preferred, good physical condition.
 
Civil Service Rating:
Cleaner - Labor Class (Non-Competitive)
 
• Pay starts at $16.00/hr
 
• Eligible for the NYS State and Local Retirement System

AUTO MECHANIC
 
POSITION:        Auto Mechanic – 8 Hours/Day - 261 Days/Year
                                                               
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs skilled operations in making general repairs on diesel and gasoline motor equipment; such as motor overhaul, electrical and electronics diagnostics; repairs or overhauls brake systems differentials, transmissions, and front and rear axles; straightens and welds frames and fenders; adjusts steering mechanisms and aligns wheels; makes estimates and prepares requisitions for materials; occasionally drives on regular route.
 
REQUIREMENTS
• Self-starter, ability to work and function as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of standard automotive repair methods and of the terminology and tools of the trade.
• Good knowledge of the operation of buses
• Demonstrated ability to make the repairs to automotive, diesel, and other mechanical equipment
• Ability to work from plans and specifications and to follow rough sketches and oral instructions
• Ability to lay out work for self and others
• Dependability
• Manual dexterity
• Good physical condition
• Must have own tools
• Will be required to drive Bus Routes
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
One-year experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic in a standard repair shop and completion of a standard high school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.  Must be able to obtain a CDL Class B License with S Endorsement.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.
