Qualifications:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the components of a comprehensive developmental counseling program, substance abuse curriculum development, counseling and staff development, and the resources available in the school and community to assist secondary students
- Exhibit enthusiasm and sensitive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and educators
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and resources
- Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, theories of individual and group counseling techniques, and secondary school counseling program design
- Experience managing student database systems
- Experience working with at-risk students
- Minimum experience as determined by the board
Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate: Student Assistance Coordinator endorsement or eligibility required
- Required criminal history background check, fingerprinting and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status
