- Selects and administers assessments in alignment with federal and state regulations surrounding the validity and reliability of diagnostic instruments, nondiscriminatory testing and adaptive testing procedures.
Administers and analyzes results of diagnostic instruments to assess students’ developmental, cognitive, academic, processing and social-emotional functioning.
Prepares written evaluations for students referred for evaluation.
Attends and facilitates meetings that may include referral of a suspicion of a disability, re-evaluation, eligibility, problem-solving, 504 and IEP.
Consults with teachers, administrators and other school personnel to help them better understand and work with students’ individual needs.
Assists with the development and delivery of staff development.
Assists in the Functional Assessment Process (FBA) by collecting and analyzing data, and participating in the development of the FBA.
Assists teams in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans.
Develops and implements targeted behavior strategies/interventions to support general education and special education students’ emotional needs and improve behavior and academic achievement.
Assists students individually who are identified as requiring significant social-emotional, academic, behavioral and/or transition support.
Provides school staff, students, families and the community with crisis intervention services as needed.
Attends school-based, division-wide and department led professional development and meetings as needed.
Observes students in school and school related settings.
Performs other duties assigned.
