    Pay Rate:  $28.71 per hour

    Job Description: The purpose of the MLL Instructional Support Assistant position is to provide language support for students with emerging English language skills, primarily providing instructional and translation support for individual and groups of MLL students in classes as assigned by the building principal.  The MLL Instructional Support Assistant will also provide, as needed and directed, language translation support between home and school, including conferences and meetings.   The MLL Instructional Support Assistant will also assist in the welcoming and onboarding of new students and families with limited English proficiency.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
    • Advanced level language fluency (written and oral) in English and Spanish (required)
    • Additional language fluency in Portuguese (desired)
    • Experience in language translation
    • Experience working with students and families
     
    Essential Duties
    • Provide individual and small group instruction in both English and Spanish (or Portuguese) to support English language proficiency and academic skills for students identified as multilingual learners;
    • Provide translation and interpreter services to increase family participation, understanding, and engagement in the educational process as directed by the principal;
    • Develops and assists in the development of individualized instructional materials for both students and teachers in English and Spanish to support the teaching and learning environment;
    • Assists in the welcoming and onboarding of students and families new to the district; and
    • Assists in the administration of internal and standardized assessments (i.e. LAS Links, STAR, SBA, NGSS, etc.)
