Summer Worker (Grounds)
Buildings and Grounds (3 positions) - 2025
Seasonal positions as follows:
2 Positions – April 7 through November 7, 2025 (40 hours per week)
1 Position – April 21 through November 7, 2025 (40 hours per week)
Location: Buildings & Grounds
Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
Rate: $17.76 per hour
Position Description:
This position reports to the Facilities Manager (or designee). The person in this position will perform primarily all routine maintenance, repair and up-keep on all building, grounds, and equipment within the school district.
Experience/Education:
High School diploma or equivalent desired
Essential Duties:
Mowing all district owned property.
All related landscaping needs.
Repair of district owned mowers, landscape equipment.
Repair of outdoor structures including bleachers, signs, and playground equipment.
Field renovations.
Respond to customer’s needs.
Essential Functions:
Evidence of formal training and/or equivalent experience in landscaping including mowing, aerating, seeding, irrigation systems, trimming, mulching, and pruning.
Operate different types of mowing equipment.
Athletic fields including layout and striping.
Repair of small engines.
Safely operate powered hand tools.
General knowledge of maintenance and repair of buildings and related systems and equipment.
Detailed knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills that promotes a team oriented environment.
Resourceful in analyzing and solving problems.
Special Requirements:
Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and good driving record
Excellent physical condition as required for lifting (50 lbs.), climbing, crawling, bending and twisting
