Description: Summer School for grades 6-8 will be held at the Warrensville Heights Elementary School and the Warrensville Heights High School. The focus of summer school intervention for grades K-5 will be targeted, individualized instruction to improve the critical literacy and math skills of students to prepare them for the next grade level. Student data will be used to differentiate instruction. Teachers will be expected to collaborate and group students based on formative assessments.
Summer Learning Academy hours will be from 8:00am to 1:00pm, Monday through Friday June 2 - June 27, 2025; excluding June 19, 2025.
. You must be able to commit to work the entire program. If you miss 3 or more absences, you will be removed from the program.
There will be a mandatory training for all teachers. The training date will be forthcoming. All particpanting teachers must attend the mandatory training sesison to participate in the program.
Contractual Negotiated amount of $35.00 hourly will be paid for summer employment. Teachers are hired on an as needed basis, depending on enrollment
Schedule:
8:00am – 8:30am Breakfast
8:30am – 11:30am Instruction
11:30am – 12:00pm Lunch
12:00pm - 1:00pm PBL
Qualifications:
. PK-3, K-3, K-8 or 1-8 License required
. For 3rd grade, credentialed according to 3rd grade reading guarantee required
. For K-2, credentialed according to 3rd grade reading guaranteee preferred
. Demonstrated success in working with students in grades K-3
. Must have shown collaboration with your TBT's during this current school year
. Must have demonstrated student growth with your students this current school year
. Must be willing to maintain data to document student progress and attendance
. Must be willing to facilitate student individualized instruction?
. Experience teaching Fundations, Guided Reading and conducting Running Records
