    Location: Prairie Heights Elementary 
    Reports to:  Elementary Principal
    Hours: 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM on school days

    Position Summary:

    The After School Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the after-school program at Prairie Heights Elementary. This role is critical in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students. The Coordinator will plan and implement activities that promote academic enrichment, social development, and physical well-being while ensuring the program remains aligned with the school’s values and objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Program Management:
       - Develop and manage the after-school program curriculum, ensuring activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with educational goals.
       - Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students.
       - Ensure compliance with school policies, state regulations, and health and safety standards.

    2. Student Engagement:
       - Foster positive relationships with students; promote an inclusive atmosphere.
       - Implement activities that reflect student interests, which could include: arts, sports, homework help, and social skills development.
       - Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate guidance and discipline when necessary.

    3. Communication & Collaboration:
       - Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and school administrators regarding program updates and student progress.
       - Communicate regularly with families about the program schedule, events, and participant needs.
       - Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate academic support and enrichment opportunities.

    4. Program Evaluation:
       - Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; solicit feedback from students, parents, and staff to improve offerings.
       - Prepare reports and documentation as required for program funding, assessment, or compliance.

    Qualifications:
    - Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
    - Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
    - First Aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

    Skills:
    - Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
    - Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in after-school programming.
    - Ability to create and implement engaging lesson plans and activities.
    - Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

    Working Conditions:
    - Job is performed in a school environment and/or outside dependant on weather conditions.
