Primary Purpose:
Ensure complete health services program for Uplift Education. Provide students with health services. Incorporate students into health education programs and teach preventive health practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provide care to students, (routine, urgent, emergent, palliative, etc.)
• Comply with all regulations and guidelines set by the Texas BON
• Comply with local health authorities and DSHS ill criteria 
• Provide care, routine, urgent, and emergent to students and staff according to Uplift Education’s guidelines and the Texas BON standards
• Provide basic health information, within Uplift Education’s guidelines and as prescribed by the Texas BON to students and staff 
• Assist with enrollment, attend ARDs and 504 meetings; develop and implement IHPs as necessary according to the health needs and conditions of students 
• Collaborate with all departments across the network to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff
• Conduct health screening for students as required by Texas Department of Health, Texas
• Education Agency and charter policy. Make referrals as necessary
• Plan and implement an ongoing evaluation of Health Services programs and make adaptations based on the results.
• Instruct students and staff in safety, health, and wellness.
• Conduct campus level health trainings
• Administer vaccines according to the TVFC Program guidelines
• Work collaboratively with school staff, physicians, parents and community. 
• Serve on the Crisis Intervention and Emergency Management Teams for the school
• Ensure compliance with all immunization records in compliance with State guidelines 
• Abide by policies established by federal and state laws that apply to charter schools, Texas Department of Health rule that apply to charter schools, Commission’s Rules that apply to charter schools.

Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
• Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program 
• Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of nursing experience as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse required
• Special Sills/Certifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing, in Texas, from the Texas BON preferred, LVN license required
  • Vision, Hearing, Spinal and Acanthuses Nigricans Certification preferred 
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required; BLS Instructor preferred
 
Required Skills/Abilities:

The CIS ensures the network materials are culturally relevant, of high-quality, rigorous, and in alignment with the IB Programme Standards and Practices. Duties/Responsibilities:
• Manage content visions and systems for supports for network-wide campus leaders to support teacher capacity building
• Provide content specific professional development to school leaders (e.g., whole group, small group, one-on-one coaching) to further develop their instructional eye
• Analyze scholar assessment data (qualitative and quantitative) and share with school leaders to determine how to support in developing teachers, refining units of study, or define targeted intervention support
• Monitor implementation of the curriculum through cycles of campus observation and feedback (e.g., walkthroughs, school reviews)
• Get input on curriculum from leaders, teachers, and curriculum and instruction peers to ensure the curriculum is in alignment with the IB Programme Standards and Practices as well vertically aligned to content in different grade bands

Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)

Primary Purpose:
The Healthcare Curriculum & Instruction Specialist (CIS) is responsible for designing and developing high-quality, culturally relevant curriculum and instructional resources across grade levels that align with Uplift Education’s Scope and Sequence, the IB Programme Standards and Practices, and healthcare industry standards. Duties/Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Instructional Design
• Develop and maintain curriculum resources (unit plans, assessments, and instructional tools) aligned to IB standards, industry competencies, and Uplift’s Scope and Sequence.
• Ensure vertical alignment and coherence across grade levels and content areas.
• Incorporate healthcare career exposure and real-world learning experiences into curriculum, including summer programming.
• Regularly update and monitor content within Schoology curriculum courses.
• Provide curriculum development support for healthcare pathway courses to ensure alignment with industry expectations and standards.

    Teacher Coaching & Professional Learning
• Provide content-specific professional development for teachers and school leaders through whole-group sessions, small groups, and individualized coaching.

• Lead and facilitate PLCs, instructional trainings, and planning meetings.

• Conduct classroom observations, walkthroughs, and school reviews to monitor curriculum implementation and instructional quality.
• Gather and incorporate feedback from campus leaders, teachers, and peers to strengthen curriculum and instructional supports.
• Collaborate with RTCC teams to ensure alignment between instruction, academic advising, and career guidance.


Assessment, Data Analysis & Strategic Support
• Analyze scholar performance data (qualitative and quantitative) to guide curriculum adjustments, teacher development, and targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with the Data Team to track progress toward school and organizational goals, including TIA performance metrics for teachers and student subgroups.

Healthcare Pathway Integration

• Establishes the vision and strategy for Primary School curriculum and instruction and coordinates with other Directors to ensure K-12 alignment, transdisciplinary connections, and the fidelity of implementation of Uplift’s curriculum on all campuses

Collaboration and Coordination 
• Collaborate with the Director of Assessment to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure a standardized testing environment across all schools.

The Multilingual Compliance Coordinator ensures that Emergent Bilingual receive an excellent education, one that harnesses the assets of their bilingualism and is aligned with Uplift's IB vision for excellence. The coordinator is responsible for leading the schools' multilingual compliance initiatives, including partnering with campus leadership teams to ensure all records, identification, and monitoring are compliant with network, state, and federal law. To this end, he/she will collaborate with the campus leadership team, network staff, and outside personnel in services related to Emergent Bilinguals.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
 
Manage Bilingual/ESL Programs
• Coordinate the multilingual program on assigned campuses to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Partner with academic directors and deans to support teachers' knowledge of Emergent Bilinguals and documentation of correct classroom and testing support(s)
• Monitor Emergent Bilinguals progress toward exiting in the Bilingual/ESL program to meet students' needs as stated in Texas Education Code
• Present scholar outcome data to academic director and ML team leadership at least quarterly
• Participate in an annual internal program audit focused on the compliance needs of English Learners
• Collaborate with Multilingual ESL Coordinators to ensure a streamlined ML program across campuses
 
Documentation and Law

Summary:
Provide special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Develop student ability level instructional materials through modified curriculum and prepared lesson plans. Conduct work in self-contained, team, departmental or itinerant capacity as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 School Responsibilities
• Arrives at school 15 minutes before carpool and is available for assigned duties
• Stays at school until time designated by School Director or as business necessitates
• Participates in school-wide and individual professional development, including the 2 -3 week summer session
• Attends and participates in all staff meetings
• Performs necessary duties including but not limited to bus, morning lunch, and afternoon duties
• Chaperones field lessons and field trips
• Communicates with all staff
• Reports to appropriate administrators
• Abides by all state and federal mandates in reporting sexual or physical abuse and neglect
• Upholds the code of conduct and all school policies
• Maintains and supports a positive professional school culture
• Models behavior within the code of conduct
• Supports and follows directives of campus administrators
 
Instructional Strategies
• Work in conjunction with students, parents and other members of staff to develop IEPs through the ARD Committee process for each student assigned.
• Design, write and use instructional, therapeutic or skill development program for assigned students and ensure written plan is available for review.
• Ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needs are met through creation and implementation of appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher on student IEP to ensure all modifications are met and help special education students in regular class when appropriate.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on an ongoing basis.
• Design instructional activities by using data from students learning styles assessment.
• Ensure IEP guidelines are met when presenting subject matter.
• Use an assortment of media and techniques to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned.
• Produce and oversee the teacher aide and volunteer assignments.
• Employ technology practices to strengthen the instructional process.
 
Growth and Development
• Develop formal and informal assessments to evaluate student success.
• Oversee or ensure personal care, medical care and feedings of students as stated in IEP.
• Manage and care for all extracurricular duties as assigned.
• Serve as an example for students; support mission of charter.
 
Classroom Management
• Prepare classroom to enhance learning and aid in the physical, social, and emotional development of the students.
• Control student behavior and implement discipline plan. This includes handling crisis situation and physically restraining students as necessary according to IEP.
• Collaborate with the classroom teachers regarding student behavior management programs according to IEP.
• Collaborate with charter and outside resource people regarding education, social, medical and personal needs of student.
• Ensure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Provide input on books, equipment and material selection.
 
Communication
• Ensure good communication rapport with parents, students, principals and teachers through conferences.
• Create and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
• Present information accurately through clear communication skills.
 
Other
• Enrich job skills through professional development activities.
• Keep up to date and abide by federal, state and charter policies for special education teachers.
• Gather, manage and file all reports, records and other documents required.
• Be active in faculty meetings and assist in staff committees as required.
• Assist scholars with toileting needs as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position provides oversight to Teacher’s Aide. Successful candidates carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A./ B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Must have a Texas Teacher Certification with required special education endorsements for assignments or be able to obtain such. Spanish speaking is a plus.
 
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to set priorities. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and parents.
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
 
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook). Ability to use basic office equipment. The ability to learn and use other software as necessary.

• Clerical, instructional, and behavioral support for scholars as needed.
• Enrolled in and complete all Texas Reading Academies Training.
 
Team Responsibilities
• Works as part of interdisciplinary team planning and aligning and integrating curricula that will be consistently assessed.
•  Attends all grade level meetings.
• Works with grade level to address and resolve student issues.
Classroom Responsibilities
• Creates rigorous and engaging long-term, quarterly, weekly, daily, and lesson specific lesson plans.
• Sets clear short-term and long-term goals to drive instruction.
• Maintains a productive, safe, and focused learning environment.
• Consistently enforces Uplift Education's core mission and values.
• Creates and provides meaningful and frequent assessments in a timely manner, utilizing the daily conference time to do so.
• Provides necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students.
• Effectively teaches the adopted curriculum, the Uplift curriculum and the International Baccalaureate components.
• Goes above and beyond to ensure all students are meeting appropriate standards.
• Keeps parents well-informed about students' progress, providing frequent feedback in accordance with campus guidelines, weekly assessments and quarterly report cards.
• Maintains an open-door policy.
• Upholds all school policies within the classroom.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and/or Certification(s)
• Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (B.A./ B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree is preferred but not required.
• Experience Requirements: Previous Teaching experience a plus
• Special Skills/Certifications:
  • Must have valid Texas Teacher Certification at the appropriate level for assignment or be enrolled in an Uplift designated certification course with bilingual endorsement. 
• All K-3 teachers, including special education teachers, and principals are required to attend the HB 3 Reading Academies by the end of the 2022 - 2023 school year.
 
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in Spanish and English.  
 
• Bilingual Skills: Spanish speaking required.
