Title: Substitute Cook
Reports To: Director of Food Service
Work Year: 10 months
Compensation & Hours: $13, and hours as needed.
Job Goal: To provide each school child with a nutritious and high quality meal prepared in a safe and efficient environment. It is the goal of every position to provide services which will ensure the successful and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or experience or equivalent training in food services
Ability to positively interact with Food Service Director, support staff/district employees, students and community members
Have effective communication skills
Maintain good personal hygiene
Responsibilities:
Adhere to applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, safety standards, board policies and administrative rules.
Coordinate food preparation, use of standardized recipes and analyze nutritional value of food products served.
Adjust recipes to produce the desired quantity of food product.
Utilize the HACCP principles in assuring the safety of food preparation and implementation of standard operating procedures as applied to the food service area.
Maintain a high quality flavor and appearance of food items served to students.
Be sensitive and accommodating to students requiring special menu situations because of medical reasons.
Plan and assign preparation of breakfast menu items for service on a daily basis.
Initiative and Creativity while following applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, safety standards, board policies and administrative rules in a fast-paced work environment.
Complete all general duties and tasks associated with this assigned position in a timely and efficient manner.
Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.
The listed responsibilities would be typical. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Food Service Director on an “as needed” basis
