Full time Social Studies Department Chairperson/Teacher position
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages, supervises and administers the social studies department; provides administrative assistance as directed by the building principal; and provides for the daily operation and improvement in education instruction of this division.
Provides educational instruction directly to pupils, including teaching regular class schedules as directed; under normal circumstance, more than 50% of assigned time shall be spent teaching
II. Qualifications
a. Must have a Connecticut Certificate for Intermediate Administration/Supervision, Endorsement #092 or its equivalent, as well as current CT 026 history and social studies certification.
b. Must have a minimum of 5 years of successful professional experience, three of which must be at the secondary level in history/social studies.
c. Experience/training/familiarity in supervisory techniques is desirable.
III. Stipend
This is a TEA position with a Large Department Chairmanship Stipend of $6,074.
