Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and creative educator to join our team as a Packer Preview Teacher for incoming 6th-grade students. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and enriching learning environment through interactive lessons and activities that support the academic and social development of students. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in middle school education, a love for teaching, and the ability to make learning fun.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
• Develop and Teach Curriculum: Create and deliver dynamic lesson plans that focus on reinforcing core subjects, such as math, language arts, science, and social studies. Ensure that lessons are tailored to the needs and learning styles of incoming 6th graders.

• Academic Enrichment: Provide opportunities for students to build academic skills and confidence through hands-on activities, projects, and interactive lessons.

• Foster Engagement: Create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves, ask questions, and participate in class discussions.

Effective immediately, South St. Paul Schools is hiring for an Extended School Year (ESY) Special Education Teacher. 
 
• ESY runs from July 7-24; Monday through Thursday (12 days)
• Hours are based on program placement. 
  • ECSE Licensed Staff Hours: 8:45-11:15 a.m. 
  • Elementary Licensed Staff Hours: 8:30-1:00 p.m. 
  • Secondary Licensed Staff Hours: 7:45-12:15 p.m. (Self-contained and middle school resource) or 7:45-1:15 pm (high school resource) 
• Teachers will be paid an additional 2 hours for training on June 26 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and will have 8 additional hours for planning and preparation. The rate of pay for this position is $31.50/hour.

Specific job duties include:
• Review and target instruction to meet identified needs and IEP goals. 
• Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Collect and progress monitor students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Complete progress reports for assigned students.
• Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
• Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students' academic and social-emotional development.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
• Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
