Position Title: Summer Nurse – Elementary School
Salary: $31.50 an hour
Date/Time: 6/23-7/24/25 from 8:00am -1:00pm (Monday-Thursday)

Job Summary: The Summer Nurse will provide health services to elementary school students attending the summer school program. This position involves supporting the health and safety of students while managing medical needs and offering first aid and emergency care when required.
 

Primary Responsibilities:
 
• Administer first aid and medical care to students as needed, including managing minor injuries, illnesses, and administering prescribed medications.

• Monitor and assess students for signs of illness or injury and provide appropriate interventions.

• Maintain and update student health records, including documentation of medical treatments, health concerns, and communications with families.

• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and caregivers to address any health-related concerns or medical needs of students.

• Ensure the proper handling and storage of medications, as well as adherence to health and safety protocols.

• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding medical care provided, and follow up on any ongoing health issues.

• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy school environment.

• Develop and implement health and safety protocols related to illness prevention, especially in a summer school setting.

• Provide health education and resources to students, staff, and families as needed.

• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations and guidelines.

• Respond to emergency situations and administer appropriate care, including contacting emergency medical services if necessary.

• Attend staff meetings and participate in training as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Minnesota School Nurse License

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.

• Knowledge of childhood illnesses, medical treatments, and health-related issues common in an elementary school setting.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Deliver instruction and support to students attending the Targeted Services Summer School program.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Plan and implement a well-rounded program that includes instructional activities, demonstrations, and hands-on work, offering students opportunities to observe, inquire, explore, and engage.

• Provide individual and group instruction, employing diverse teaching techniques. Adjust teaching strategies and resources to meet the varied needs and interests of students.

• Cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes success for all students.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Coordinator to oversee and manage day-to-day operations for our Elementary Summer Program. The Site Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the program, ensuring that students have a safe and engaging experience, and supporting staff in delivering quality educational and recreational activities. This is a leadership position that requires a dynamic individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to supervise and motivate a team.

Job Summary

Job Functions
