Job Summary:
 
The Director of Food and Nutrition Services is responsible for administering and overseeing the operation and staff of the food service department for Pine Island Public School. Job Duties:
Fall
 
• Recruit and meet with student team members in the fall. (once a week meeting) 
• Sign team up for a Regional or two. 
• Attend a fall event playing last year's game with last year's robot (optional)
• Fundraise
 
Winter (build season)
 
• Facilitate and coordinate with the Engineer Mentors for the team. (We currently have 3 from Hormel Engineering R & D)
• Work collaboratively with your co/assistant coach. 
• Organize team leadership, i.e. captains
• Kickoff for the season is the first Saturday in January. 
• Register team members
• Help students and mentors facilitate building a robot to specifications, to compete in this year's game. 
• Attend a week zero event (practice event before regional competition)
• Plan your regional event: transportation, overnight stays, if applicable.
 
Spring/Summer (Optional)
 
• Fundraising
• Community events: parades, festivals

Job Summary:
 
Northfield Public Schools Community Education is now accepting applications to fill lifeguard staffing needs for summer swim lessons. Lifeguards are responsible for working at the designated lesson times, and will oversee the safety of patrons while lessons are being conducted. Recreation positions will be scheduled for program specific hours, usually mornings 4 – 5 days a week, beginning on June 9, and running through mid August. Aquatic staff will be required to sign up to work two additional swim lesson dates on a Saturday or weekday evening, and will attend one to two further training sessions throughout the summer. Lifeguards should schedule absences around scheduled work time. Family vacations, sport camps, etc. are to be expected, however absences may not exceed five days, and no vacation will be granted during the first or last week of programming, unless in rare circumstances, and approved by the recreation coordinator in advance. There will be no recreation programming June 30 - July 4, 2025.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Lifeguards will attend staff training on the evening of May 28th, and will attend one to two further trainings throughout the summer.

• Lifeguards will be alert to patrons, and be prepared to respond to all situations requiring attention, whether on deck or in the pool.

• Lifeguards will arrive at least fifteen minutes early and ensure the lesson venue is safe and ready for patrons.

• Lifeguards will wear a rescue tube and provide their own whistle and stocked fanny pack. 

• Lifeguards will remain at lifeguard post and stay focused throughout the duration of lessons

• Lifeguards will maintain order of the facility, most specifically with regards to patron behaviors while in the water and on deck. 

• Lifeguards will oversee child behavior, and with the help of the program supervisor and recreation coordinator, implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.

• Lifeguards will be prepared to execute the EMS plan and know how to respond to emergency situations.

• Lifeguards will communicate any concerns to the recreation coordinator.

• Lifeguards will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet

• Lifeguards will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.

Job Summary:
Northfield Public Schools Community Education is now accepting applications to fill staffing needs for the general summer recreation program. Instructors will coach and or work with youth of the elementary – middle school age, and will be responsible for working their specific program area at the designated program times, usually mornings 3 – 5 days a week, beginning on June 9 and running through the end of July. A few programs require afternoon or Saturday commitments, and run during the month of August. Aquatic staff will be required to sign up to work two additional swim lesson dates on a Saturday or weekday evening, and will attend one to two further training sessions throughout the summer. All recreation staff should schedule absences around scheduled work time. Family vacations, sport camps, etc. are to be expected, however absences may not exceed five days, and no vacation will be granted during the first or last week of programming, unless in rare circumstances, and approved by the recreation coordinator in advance. There will be no general recreation programming June 30 - July 4, 2025.  

Responsibilities:
• Lead the administration of the established curriculum.
• Oversee program staff in their particular program, and are responsible for the coaching effectiveness of staff and the quality of the program, with help of the recreation coordinator. 
• Oversee child behavior, and implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
• Arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.

• Lifeguards will arrive at least fifteen minutes early and ensure the lesson venue is safe and ready for patrons.
• Lifeguards will wear a rescue tube and provide their own whistle and stocked fanny pack. 
• Lifeguards will remain at lifeguard post and stay focused throughout the duration of lessons
• Lifeguards will maintain order of the facility, most specifically with regards to patron behaviors while in the water and on deck. 
• Lifeguards will oversee child behavior, and with the help of the program supervisor and recreation coordinator, implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
• Lifeguards will be prepared to execute the EMS plan and know how to respond to emergency situations.
• Lifeguards will communicate any concerns to the recreation coordinator.

• Addresses unauthorized persons on site property through appropriate guest service.

• Reviews and tracks event attendance and staff schedules during events, activities, and/or gatherings. 

• Thoroughly completes and returns all forms, including accident/incident reports, attendance reports, and timesheets in a timely manner.

• Is knowledgeable about District and building emergency action plans and location of emergency resources within buildings.

• Provides direction and partnership during emergencies with site users, on-site staff and local emergency services.

• Attends staff meetings as needed.

This position will review all student health conditions at the beginning of the program and notify the proper program staff of any allergies or accommodations that they should be aware of. Prior to any field trips, this position will review rosters and ensure that the chaperons attending have any training and materials needed. This position will also play a role in our attendance plan by verifying that all teachers have submitted attendance each morning through Infinite Campus, and then will report the daily student numbers and any allergies to food service.  

Summer STEAM will run from June 16 through July 31, 2025, Monday - Thursday. On June 19, there will be no Summer STEAM. There will be some required training dates for staff during the week of June 9, which will be communicated to all hired staff once details are finalized. This position will report to Lincoln Elementary (grades 1-4) or Faribault High School (grades 5-8) from 7:30am-3pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. The rate of pay for this position is $29.40/hour. Applicants who are available for the entirety of the program will be considered first. 

Qualifications: Experience as a school nurse preferred, trained in first aid and CPR.

Must use the Responsive Classroom approach consistently by conducting regular class meetings, supportive exchanges and clear expectations. Collaboration with grade level team, special education team and specialists to develop a positive learning environment. Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents. Support and follow School Board policies and procedures. Be a positive and contributing member of our professional community.  
 
Licensure: License by the State of Minnesota in Elementary Education
