Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Kitchen Manager for Springfield High School the 2024-2025 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Kitchen Manager, you are required to:
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Have experience in a volume production kitchen environment (leadership preferred)
- Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
- Be willing to serve as a team leader
- Have the ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role
As a Kitchen Manager, you will: - Direct workflow to promote efficiency of the kitchen personnel
- Assign workload equally among all assigned employees
- Cook as needed
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with students, staff, faculty, community, and guests
- Oversee staff that prepare food for the school utilizing standard operating procedures that have been developed by the Food and Nutrition Department
- Adheres to the cashier standards of operations, reporting and maintenance
- Follow the systems that are utilized to maintained compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Operate all equipment according to the standard operating procedure for safety and efficiency
- Serve as a contact at the assigned school for issues that may arise. Reports all issues to the Supervisor within a timely manner
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork as required
- Helps to ensure the safe and accurate receiving, storage, rotation, and disposition of all food and supplies
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance as scheduled
- Performs other duties as assigned
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, this position works 8 hours per day, 188 days per contracted year.
Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm
Starting salary is $19.92 per hour.
