Job Objective: Responsible for supporting the school vision to achieve and sustain high levels of student achievement. The assistant principal will collaborate with the school principal in the development, implementation and evaluation of instructional best practices. Minimum Qualifications:

4. Oversee the school’s assessment procedure, training, data collection and collaborate with the principal to complete reports due.
5. Participate fully in professional development opportunities and professional research and reading.
 
Job Responsibilities:
Literacy Coach will lead building efforts to increase literacy achievement for all student populations and facilitate the transition to and the implementation of the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
· Assist teachers with the implementation of Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts via the district framework of Reader’s/Writer’s Workshop and Word Work
 · Assist teachers with the continued implementation of the district’s Literacy Plan
· Demonstrate exemplary literacy instruction for all  teachers through the following researched-based practices: observation, coaching, model lessons, collaborative lesson planning, and small and large group professional development
· Plan and conduct Literacy team meetings through the PLC structure
· Assist teachers in diagnosing individual student reading and writing weaknesses and match these areas of need with appropriate strategies and resources based on the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts
· Assist with disaggregating and analyzing Benchmark, ITBS, and other district assessment data (MAPS, STAR, DRA, Fast For Word, etc.) to help guide teacher’s instructional decisions
· Assist in assessing district assessments and their appropriateness to the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
 · Monitor and report the effectiveness and progress of improved reading instruction and student performance to building principal and PLC teams
· Help make recommendations regarding instructional materials
· Participate in various training sessions for leaders of literacy

Summary: Instructs Elementary students in physical education and health science activities  in an educational setting by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Plans physical education program to promote development of students' physical attributes and social skills.
2. Teachers individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and of physical capabilities of students.
3. Organizes leads, instructs and referees indoor and outdoor games such as volleyball, baseball and basketball.

6. Differentiate and obtain cultural background information relevant for instruction and assessment of student performance.
7. Implement one-on-one and small group lesson plans created in advance by certified teaching staff to provide pre-teaching and instructional reinforcement.
8.  Consult with staff to provide possible cultural or language-based explanations to student issues. Classroom Support

• Daily inspect all equipment and systems in building relating to the responsibilities to ensure that they are operational.

• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
• Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
• Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs
• Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
• Test the functionality of the facility’s safety systems
• Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions
• Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
 
Minimum Requirements:  . Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position.
• Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems certification(s)

Purpose of the Position: Security Officers are responsible for the overall safety and security of the school. The security team plays a critical role in the school’s culture and climate. A calm, structured, and positive learning environment is top priority for the security team. Security personnel actively engage in supporting students in order for them to be successful in the classroom and school community. The role of a security officer is physically demanding as they are the first line of defense to defuse and de-escalate student misconduct and/or serious incidents and must respond urgently.
 
Principal Accountabilities & General Responsibilities:
• Fulfill duties associated with the post assigned as part of the school’s security plan; maintain an orderly post and remain at the post at all times unless otherwise directed by a supervisor
• Actively respond to incidents, fights or other issues in the school that threaten the safety of students, staff, and/or guests utilizing skills up to and including momentary physical intervention if warranted by the safety risk
• Fulfill duties assigned related to Hall Sweeps
• Patrol (foot or mobile) and monitor school property for unauthorized persons. If needed, redirect or escort from property
• Report unusual activity or suspicions of safety issues to the Building Administration in a timely fashion.
• Complete proper documentation related to incident reports and misconduct reports
• Produce and deliver reports to show progress against key metrics
• Assist with the organization and distribution of student lockers and locker searches
• Monitor school grounds and school entrances to ensure only authorized personnel and authorized visitors access the school; if assigned to the main entrance, ensure all guests follow visitor protocol and triage visitor requests
• Actively participate in professional development training to ensure ongoing growth and to advance skills
• As assigned, monitor the student entry and dismissal process to ensure safety
• Build positive and professional relationships with students and leverage those relationships to establish and maintain productive and safe learning environments and common areas of the building
• Exercise dignity and respect when interacting with students at all times
• Lead efforts to de-escalate inappropriate student behaviors and assist students with maximizing their time on task in classrooms
• Serve as a primary participant in emergency response during crisis situations including but not limited to fire, tornado and active shooter incidents

Job Title: Instructional Teacher Assistant
Reports To: Building Principal
Salary Range: $17.25-$21.76
FLSA Status: Non - Exempt 
Terms of Employment: School Year

Position Summary:  To assist the teacher to achieve individual student goals and objectives by working with the assigned student or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education:  Associates Degree or 60 credit hours from accredited College or University
• Experience: Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative. Follow state and district guidelines.
• License: Paraprofessional or Substitute Teaching certificate from the Illinois State Board of Education
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
1. Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
2. Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing specific skills.
3. Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
4. Prepares lesson outline and plan in assigned area and submits outline to teacher for review. Utilizes grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria.
5. Prepares, administers, and grades examinations.
6. Assists students, individually or in groups., with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
7. Assist the teacher with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, media center, and field trips
8. Assist the teacher in keeping bulletin boards and other classroom learning displays up to date: Duplicate materials assigned by the teacher.
9. Perform various clerical tasks such as correction of papers, recording of grades, maintaining files, and preparing chalk/bulletin boards as assigned by the teacher.
10. May be required to assist in the supervision of  students at recess, lunch and bus arrivals and departures; escort and/or remain with classes in Art, Music and Physical Education as requested.
11. Serve as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
12. Participate in in-service training programs.
13. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
ONE - ON - ONE ASSIGNMENTS ONLY:
1. Work with one student on a one-on-one basis in carrying out activities that have been initiated by the student's I.E.P (Individual Educational Plan).
2. Assist student with Physical needs.
3. Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
4. Help student master equipment or instructional materials.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to the following situations may range from remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable.
• Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, tight deadlines and heavy workload.
• Frequent use of electronic mail.
• Accidents improbable outside of minor injuries, such as cuts, scrapes, or bruises.
• No exposure to chemical or health hazards.
• Primarily require working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• Normal effort or occasional periods of light physical activity.
Terms of Employment: School Year
Five and one half (5.5) hours per day
60 unpaid minutes for lunch k-6
30 unpaid minutes for lunch 7-8

Elementary Buildings: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Middle School: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Classified Staff  Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Title:  Bus Driver
FLSA:Non  Exempt
Hourly:$18.59- $21.35
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Length: 10-month employee

Summary: The bus driver has the mission of providing safe and efficient transportation of all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 
1. Pick Up and deliver students to assigned and as close as possible to route schedule.
2. Maintain orderliness of students while they are on the bus.
3. In case of any accident or emergency, follow proper reporting procedures.
4. Return directly to bus garage after completion of route 
5. Wash, clean and check bus for any mechanical problems. 
6. Report any concerns to Director of Transportation
7. When on field trips, cooperate with adult supervisor to make outing a pleasant experience.
8. Take charge of any "lost" bus child to be sure they are not left unsupervised. If no school authority can be found, deliver child to the bus garage.
9. Complete, sort and file trip sheets.
10. Assist in maintain cleanliness of buses and of the garage.
11. Know proper bus emergency evacuations procedures.
12. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Bus drivers must supervise all children riding on their bus with assistance of the Bus Assistant.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Certificates, License Registrations
Hold a valid State of Illinois Type C Driver’s License and an State of Illinois permit to operate a school bus.

Academic year
Monday- Friday 6:30a.m. -9:00 a.m. AND 1:30 p.m.  - 4:30 p.m.
