TITLE: Teacher English Lanague Learners Middle School Education 
                            
QUALIFICATIONS: ISBE State Certification(s) with appropriate ESL / bilingual endorsements (Spanish Fluency Preferred)
 
JOB GOAL: Provide positive and appropriate learning opportunities for each student. REPORTS TO: Building Principal
 
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Facilitates learning and the development of skills in English.
2. Demonstrate fluency in speaking Spanish (preferred) 
3. Facilitates learning of specific courses of study and the development of good civic participation as mandated by state law and by policies of the school district.
4. Develops and implements lesson plans, utilizing instructional materials including the integration of technology, to provide differentiated learning experiences to meet the needs of each student.
5. Collaborates and co-teaches with team members to develop and implement differentiated lessons plans for all students’ success.
6. Establishes and maintains positive student behavior within the classroom and school Environment.
7. Evaluates and monitors student academic and social growth, and keeps appropriate records using formal and informal data collection, methods, or tools. 
8. Identifies student needs and collaborate with team members to assess and remediate student learning and establish or implement behavior plans.
9. Creates an engaging classroom environment for learning.
10. Communicates classroom information and student progress with guardians through web pages, conferences and digital resources.
11. Commit to personal professional growth through activities provided by the district, self selected activities and those recommended by the supervising principal for competency advancement.
12. Maintains required inventory records for all classroom materials.
13. Supervises students during non academic activities within the school day.
14. Administers individual and group assessments in accordance with the district and State Testing Program.
15. Participates in school programs, faculty committees and student activities in accordance with terms of the current contract.
16. Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent or designee and in accordance with terms stipulated in the current contract.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:     Ten month year.

TITLE:                         Social Worker
 
QUALIFICATIONS:     Appropriate Illinois Certificate
                                   Master of Social Work Degree
                                   Ability to relate to students, staff, parents, the public and community service agencies.       
 
JOB GOAL:             To help students resolve personal, emotional and social adjustment problems that interfere with their capacity to derive the complete benefit of the education program. 
 
REPORTS TO:             Building Principal and Assistant Principal  
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
·       Participate, plan and implement social emotional interventions, including but not limited to, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and social emotional learning.
 
·       Assist school personnel with crisis intervention for students and families in the school setting.
 
·       Consults with the professional staff to help better understand and work with children or manage classes.
 
·       Serves as a liaison between school, family, and community agencies.
 
·       Practice group work with students.
 
·       Works with parents as individuals or in groups.
 
·       Participates in case conferences with professional staff.
 
·       Follow and implement mandates, guidance and directives provided by the Special Education Department; including, but not limited to, the Special Education Coordinator and Special Education Director.
 
·       Provides the social-developmental study in a case study evaluation and participate in the identification of those children who require social work intervention.
 
·       Re-evaluates students in Special Education placement every third year.
 
·       Consults with administrators and teachers on broad areas of mental health as they relate to elementary education.
 
·       Provides individual case work to students.
 
·       Organizes and participates in in-service training programs.
 
·       Participates in professional social work organizations and attends conferences subject to Board approval.
 
·       Other duties as assigned by the building principal or special education department.
 
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Ten-month year.  Salary and contract terms to be established by the Board of Education
