    Title: ASES/AOK Assistant Site Coordinator 

     

    Salary Schedule Range: 34 

    Staring pay rate: $24.53 - $26.70

    Hours per day: 4

     

    Purpose of Position: Under the general direction of the Coordinator of After School Programs, perform a variety of duties to manage enrollment, collect contributions, communicate with families, and assist with daily implementation of the ASES program at a designated school site. 

     

    Reporting: Reports to an assigned supervisor. 

     

    Employment Status: Part-time. Four (4) hours per day, nine (9) months per year, Monday through Friday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. (FLSA status - Non-exempt)

     

    Location: After School Program Site

     

    Essential Functions:

     

    Facilitate pupil enrollment at multiple A-OK sites.

     

    Assist the Site Coordinator with supervision of daily ASES/A-OK activities to assure safety of students; provide general direction to Program Leaders in the absence of the Site Coordinator.

     

    Communicate regularly with Program Supervisors and Site Coordinators, and parents or guardians.

     

    Provide input for the evaluation of Program Leader job performance. 

     

    Insure standard procedures are followed to account for student attendance, sign in and out, and transportation.

     

    Act as substitute Program Leader in the event a Program Leader is absent or unavailable. 

     

    Maintain forms, logs and other documents such as time sheets or records of deposit. 

     

    Assist in scheduling activities or special events. 

     

    Operate a variety of contemporary office equipment.

     

    Use a computer and various proprietary or mass market software applications such as MS Office or Google Suite to enter or retrieve data.

     

    Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.

     

    Other Functions:

     

    Perform related duties as assigned.

     

    Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

     

    Inside work with no exposure to weather conditions; exposure to weather when supervising outdoor activities. 

     

    Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; sitting for extended periods of time; bending or stooping, kneeling, reaching overhead to store or retrieve materials, and walking and standing. 

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    Knowledge of basic supervision techniques and ability to provide clear direction to adult staff.

     

    Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to contingencies and unexpected situations.

     

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents and guardians, program staff, District staff and community organizations. 

     

    Ability to enter and organize documents or data using MS Office or Google suite. 

     

    Ability to use appropriate telephone etiquette.

     

    Ability to use correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and business vocabulary.

     

    Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions. 

     

    Ability to meet schedules and timelines.

     

    Ability to work collaboratively with others. 

     

    Education, Training and Experience:

     

    BA preferred, with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a child development or classroom setting. 

     

    Additional Requirements:

     

    Valid first aid and CPR certification. 

     

    NCLB requirement can be met by completion of ONE of the following:

     
    • SBUSD Paraeducator Math/Language Arts Assessment

    • California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)

    • Completion of two (2) years college (48 semester units) or A.A. degree (or higher)

     

    Bilingual ability in Spanish preferred. 

     

    *This position is eligible for Language Services premium pay
