Teach St. Bernard is an alternative certification program that is offered through the St. Bernard Parish School System for those interested in pursing a career in teaching. This program matches recent college graduates and career changers with high-needs subject in one of the 12 St. Bernard Parish Public schools. Unlike traditional teacher licensure programs, Teach St. Bernard provides a path to becoming a teacher in our school district through our high quality, no out-of-pocket cost program.Candidates can make an impact while making an income by completing the necessary coursework during the summer and over weekends.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Passing PRAXIS II scores in the content area they are seeking certification
Important Dates
• TSB Summer Training |  June 28, 2023 - July 28, 2023   
  • ?This is a full-time, mandatory training program that requires particpants to be present from 8:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Please note that particpants are not paid during summer training.
• ?All Teacher Professional Development | August 1, 2023 - August 4, 2023?
• Students First Day of School | August 7, 2023
Application Procedure
1. All qualified applicants, will receive an email to take a 45 minute Gallup Assessment called TeacherInsight
2. Those with passing scores will be invited to particpate in a phone Interview
3. The final round of candidates will be interviewed by the principal of the school the candidate is potentially being placed at
