The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking experienced and innovative teacher to provide reading intervention services and instructional coaching support at Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School. Preferred candidates will have experience using technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning, will have background in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS), LETRS (science of reading) training, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and will have previous experience working with middle level students.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Reading Interventionist a. Identify specific intended learning outcomes that are challenging, meaningful, and measurable.
b. Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student’s culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background.
c. Identify, select and modify instructional materials to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs.
d. Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures, including but not limited to, required individual student plans and reports.
e. Coordinate and monitor the work of volunteers and aides when assigned.
f. Maintain reading documentation required by the state.
g. Develop and use assessment strategies, traditional and alternative, to assist the continuous development of students.
h. Analyze and identify reading problems.
i. Interpret data including but not limited to standardized and other test results for diagnosis, instructional planning and program evaluation.
j. Compile pre-program, mid-program and post-program data for project evaluation.
k. Communicate, in understandable terms, individual student progress to the student, parents, and professional colleagues who need access to the information.
2. Coaching/Supporting Teachers
a. Assist teachers in selecting, administering, and evaluating results of screening, diagnostic, and progress assessments. (Fastbridge)
b. Assist with the selection of appropriate reading resources related to identified needs at the school site.
c. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents and community.
d. Update the principal and teachers on the latest trends in the area of reading instruction.
e. Coach teachers in the latest techniques for the prevention and remediation of reading problems.
f. Model effective teaching strategies and techniques in the area of reading.
g. Conduct staff development activities to assist teachers in helping students improve reading skills.

Required Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota teaching license in reading or language arts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in K-12 Reading
- Experience teaching reading
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject area
- Experience using technology to augment student learning
- Experience using PBIS to augment student engagement
- Experience with varied reading interventions
Contract:
1.0 FTE beginning the 2025-2026 school year.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on the 2023-2025 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $49,846 up to $92,999.
