Position Purpose
Milton Elementary School is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Elementary Classroom Teacher who is committed to fostering a love of learning and ensuring success for every student. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and demonstrate the ability to create a welcoming classroom environment where students with a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, and needs, including students with disabilities, feel valued and successful.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver student-centered, engaging, and differentiated instruction aligned with New Hampshire State Standards and district goals.
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom culture that promotes social-emotional growth and academic excellence.
- Design and implement lesson plans that balance whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction.
- Adapt instruction and utilize effective strategies to meet the needs of a heterogeneous classroom with students of varied abilities, including students with disabilities and other special learning needs.
- Collaborate with special education teachers and related service providers to ensure all students receive appropriate supports and accommodations.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues to foster a sense of belonging and partnership in learning.
- Regularly assess student progress using a variety of methods, adjusting instruction as needed to support continued growth.
- Engage families as active participants in their children’s education through regular communication and involvement opportunities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to the school community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid New Hampshire Elementary Education Certification (or eligibility).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Prior successful experience in an elementary classroom is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Wit & Wisdom English Language Arts and iReady Mathematics curriculum is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to implement inclusive practices and meet the needs of all learners in a diverse classroom.
- Knowledge of best practices in differentiation, special education collaboration, and personalized learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to reflective teaching and continuous professional growth.
