Job Goal:
Performs professional, supervisory, and management duties and is responsible for the overall leadership and supervision of the technology department. Areas of supervision include the instructional technology, data privacy standards, all software applications and hardware, networking and technical support, the wide and local area network, distance learning, and computer repair.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Oversees the use of technology Fall Mountain’s schools and buildings.
- Serves as the Fall Mountain District’s Information Security Officer (ISO) for data privacy and partnering with district vendors to solidify agreement with the data privacy protection standards and terms.
- Supervises assigned technology staff (e.g. hiring recommendations, interviewing, training, evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting operational requirements.
- Coordinates the district’s technical support in relationship to maintenance and purchases of technology and related materials.
- Provides staff professional development in using district hardware and software.
- Serves as strong advocate to the district administration, staff and community at large for school computer program support computer services and facilities in the schools.
- Develops appropriate protocol and policies relating to the utilization of technology.
- Researches outside funding opportunities and grants for the purpose of providing additional funding to enhance technology within the district.
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and implementation of district and building WANs, LANs, Internet access, district servers, and software programs.
- Supports the implementation of operational and educational technology initiatives for the purpose of assisting with delivery and implementation, providing support and assistance to others, providing oversight of projects and/or training and providing information to others to ensure successful implementation.
- Monitors technology budget and expenditures for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, and expenses are within budget limits and that fiscal practices.
- Authorizes permissions and individual access to technology applications or services for the purpose of ensuring proper access to technology systems by staff, students, parents and others consistent with district operating guidelines and regulations.
- Supervises and works with technical staff to plan, design, and manage all infrastructure, networking, and technology installations and services, standard district software, and the technical support of these systems.
- Submits state and federal technology reports required by the NH Department of Education.
- Submits necessary E-rate documentation through the Universal Services Administrative Company (USAC.)
- Adheres to applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, board policies and administrative rules.
- Manages procurement, inventory and surplus of technology equipment, systems and related services for the purpose of ensuring that all technology purchases for goods and/or services are consistent with the district’s technology objectives, and that equipment is properly inventoried consistent with local, district and state regulations.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
