    Special Education Coordinator
    John Stark Regional High School is seeking an outstanding leader to serve as Student Services Coordinator. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple areas of student services including special education and 504 plans. A Master's degree in education, a minimum of 5 years successful special education teaching experience, proven leadership ability and a New Hampshire special education administrator certification or NH school administration certification are preferred. Regular education teaching experience is a plus.

    Duties include:
    1. Collaborate with personnel to implement and maintain services and/or programs for students with disabilities;
    2. Serve as an LEA representative at IEP meetings, communicating closely with the principal on all new spending decisions;
    3. Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with parents/guardians, administration, community members, and staff;
    4. Manage potential conflict situations in and among IEP team members, especially parents/guardians, in a timely and respectful manner;
    5. Evaluate and analyze complex problems, issues and concerns, and recommend appropriate alternative solutions and make effective and timely decisions;
    6. Monitor IEP and program compliance in accordance with special education local, state and federal law;
    7. In collaboration with the building administration, effectively supervise and evaluate special education personnel employed within the school;
    8. Assign and schedule special education support staff;
    9. Coordinate management of 504 plans;
    10. Prepare an annual special education budget proposal in conjunction with the principal;
    11. Assist with student IEP transition meetings between grades and buildings;
    12. Monitor and manage special education process from referral to discharge;
    13. Provide administrative oversight of district student information systems (Case-e) and the New Hampshire Special Education Information System (NHSEIS);
    14. Supervise the timely preparation of reports and records required for local, state, and federal agencies as directed;
    15. Maintain communication with the SAU Director of Student Services;
    16. Participate in SAU and District special education meetings and initiatives;
    17. Coordinate the Extended School Year program and hire the necessary staff to support the program;
    18. Serve on building level or SAU level teams as requested by administration;
    19. Attend conferences, educational meetings, and review professional literature to keep current on educational trends and practices;
    20. Perform other administrative and/or professional duties as assigned by building or SAU administration.
