Under the general supervision of the immediate supervisor, the Industrial Mechanic applies technical expertise in conjunction with other Maintenance Branch team members in the inspection, testing, maintenance, installation, repair and application of preventative maintenance practices on hydronic and steam mechanical systems, HVAC exhaust fan systems, single and dual duct supply air systems, maintenance and repair of basketball and other sporting equipment in Saskatoon Public School facilities.

The successful candidate will have Grade 12 plus a Saskatchewan accepted Journeyperson’s status in the Industrial Mechanic/Millwright trade.  A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, plus a working knowledge of welding and small engine repair is required along with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  The successful candidate will hold a valid Saskatchewan drivers’ license and will be comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding and power lifts. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.

Saskatoon Public Schools requires Summer Students: Grass Cutter and Grounds Crew effective May 5, 2025.   This is a temporary position until August 29, 2025.
The successful candidate will be available for work from May 5th to August 29th during scheduled shifts.  The Summer Students: Grass Cutter and Grounds Crew perform a multitude of tasks including cutting grass on a ride on mower, whipping fence lines using a motorized whip, minor maintenance to equipment, flower bed maintenance, edging of lawns, tree pruning, and general lawn care.  When weather does not permit outside work, summer students will be assigned to one of our facilities to assist with custodial tasks.

The role:
Educational Assistants provides assistance in the delivery of educational programming to students with intensive needs.  Educational Assistants assist students in reaching their maximum potential and level of independence.

What you will do:
• Assist the school team in supporting the student(s) to meet the goals identified in the student’s plan.
• Support students with personal care needs including feeding, personal hygiene, mobility, toileting and transportation.  This may also include transfers, lifts and repositioning.
• Support student medical and para-medical needs as required
• Promote, facilitate, and model positive behaviour interventions and supports to encourage, support, reinforce and facilitate appropriate and positive student behaviour and social interactions.
• Enhance student communication skills through appropriate strategies including social stories, picture exchange communication system (PECS), technological aid, Signed English, Braille, or other communication systems.
• Ensure the safety of all students including supervision during non-instructional times such as bus, playground, hallways, gym and field trips.  Implement behaviour strategies to support safety and independence.
 
What you will bring:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Preference will be given to candidates with completion of at least one year of post-secondary education related to special education programs (i.e. Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Development, Youth Care Worker, Rehabilitation Worker)
• A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Professional Assault Response (PART) training and Transfer Lifting Repositioning certification is preferred.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED training is an asset.
• Ability to perform the physical demands required for this position such a lifting/transferring students who require assistance with bathrooming or mobility.
• Ability to work in a variety of environments.
• Ability to respond to students with severe opposition, aggressive, threatening behaviours, and the use of inappropriate and/or threatening language.

Saskatoon Public Schools is looking for teachers who can teach Core French and French Immersion for the 2025-2026 school year.  In particular, we are in need of teachers who hold or are qualified for a Saskatchewan "Professional A" teacher's certificate, who can teach in grades K-12, all subject areas, and whose French Language proficiency is, at a minimum, rated to be "High Intermediate".  We have temporary contract positions available at various times throughout the year.

SYSTEM SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (SUMMER STUDENT)
Term: June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
 
The System Support Technician (Summer Student) will be a member of the Information Systems team, helping with a variety of technical projects involving computers, peripherals, and network systems. These projects may include large-scale technology rollouts, routine network maintenance, and general summer tasks that take place while schools are out of session.
 
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You’ll work alongside teams that support the school division’s technology and gain valuable experience in supporting a large user base across a complex network spanning more than 60 locations throughout the city — and who knows, you might just decide you want to come back after graduation (just ask Kyle).
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Operations, applicants must have completed Grade 12 and be currently enrolled in a recognized one- or two-year technical program in computer science, information technology, or electronics technology. Knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Windows desktop/server environments, networking, and TCP/IP is required. A valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation are considered assets.
