    Job Summary
    To evaluate, recommend, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair audio-visual/multimedia hardware and software, and associated network hardware and software. Also, to provide and/or coordinate Audio-Visual services for Rock Valley College sponsored events at various RVC locations.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
    1. Install, configure, and operate a wide range of audio-visual hardware and software, multimedia-related hardware and software, and various associated Audio-Visual (AV) hardware and software.
    2. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of audio-visual hardware and software, multimedia-related hardware and software, and various associated AV hardware and software.
    3. Assemble, maintain, and utilize a set of effective tools.
    4. Maintain a collection of audio-visual/multimedia hardware and software supplies, backups, replacement parts, and related items.
    5. Maintain an inventory of audio-visual/multimedia hardware and software property, documentation, warranties, service contracts, and license agreements.
    6. Document procedures and technical processes.
    7. Maintain regular and effective communication with the user community, colleagues within the organization unit, and supervisors.
    8. As assigned, assist users with the operation of audio-visual hardware and software, multimedia-related hardware and software, and various associated hardware and software.
    9. Setup and operate video recording equipment in a classroom or event setting.
    10. As assigned, serve as the primary supervisor and user-support specialist in a specific setting or environment.
    11. Respond to service requests in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.
    12. Maintain continuous professional growth and development through a series of actions, including reading technical, professional, and marketing literature, attending workshops, seminars and demonstrations, collaborating with vendors, manufacturers, and colleagues, and engaging in hands-on experiences with a variety of technologies.
    13. Provide informed recommendations for enhancements and improvements at Rock Valley College based on new and emerging technologies.
    14. Participate in strategic planning budget decisions.
    15. Supervise student workers and interns as assigned.
    16. As assigned, participate in the full range of activities associated with the User Support Group.
    17. Regular attendance is expected.
    18. Evening and weekend hours may be required
    19. Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.

    Minimum Qualifications
    An associate degree in an area closely related to audio-visual/multimedia systems or 2 years of recent experience delivering audio-visual/multimedia support services; ability to prioritize effectively and to work efficiently without direct supervision; ability to communicate effectively; related professional certifications are desirable; experience working in an educational setting is desirable. Must have a valid driver’s license.
