  Midcoast Adult & Community Education seeks an experienced educator to support adult learners as they prepare to take the High School Equivalency Tests (HiSET, formerly GED). Subject areas include reading, writing, social studies, math, and science, and a flexible educator is a great fit for the range of support students need. You do not need to be an expert in any one subject, but you do need to hold a current certification in one of these content areas. Instructors work with students individually in a learning lab format to tailor test preparation to the needs of the student.

This position is in a self-contained classroom known as the "LEAD" program at Medomak Valley High School. Successful candidates must be eligible for or have a State of Maine Educational Technician certification, and an approved CRC (Criminal Records Check) through the Maine Department of Education. Ed Tech III starting pay with no prior experience is $19.04 per hour and increases based on experience in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement. Ed Tech's who are BHP certified and working in this LEAD position will receive an additonal $3 per hour.
