Description/Requirements:The Rockford Area Schools enjoy the small school setting with around 1550 students in grades K-12, and provides challenging opportunities for students. Our students are highly motivated and often participate in multiple activities which keep them engaged and committed to the school and community.
The Elementary Art Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering creative, engaging, and age-appropriate art instruction to elementary school students at the Rockford Area Arts Magnet School. This individual will foster students' artistic skills, creativity, and appreciation for visual arts through hands-on projects, lessons, and exposure to a variety of media and techniques. The teacher will cultivate an inclusive and nurturing environment where all students feel confident in expressing themselves artistically.
Rockford Area Schools is seeking a dynamic candidate to teach music to students in grades K-4 and choir at High School level. The ideal candidate must hold a current MN K-12 vocal music education license. The candidate should possess strong music content knowledge, refined instructional skills, and demonstrate a passion for working with elementary/HS students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate art lessons that align with school curriculum MN standards and encourage creative exploration.
- Introduce a variety of artistic techniques and materials.
- Provide students with an understanding of art history and different art styles.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment conducive to creative expression.
- Encourage self-expression and help students develop problem-solving skills through art.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on artwork and projects.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into the broader curriculum.
- Organize art exhibitions and events to showcase student work to the school community.
Qualifications:
- Valid MN Teaching License
- Ability to build strong relationships with students
- Strong classroom management skills that develops a supportive classroom environment
