    LOCATION: Gage Elementary, Virtual/Distant Learning Program

    This position is open to internal teacher applicants only.

    We believe that all students can learn and that motivating students is an essential part of teaching. 
    Students are invited to participate in this program because they are at risk of not meeting proficiency.

    EXPECTATIONS:
    • Participate in staff development and team planning
    • Explore innovative teaching strategies to provide new experiences for students
    • Provide a safe and positive learning environment for students
    • Collaborate and communicate with administrators, classroom teachers, parents and community partners
    • Provide opportunities for parent involvement, including parent contact and facilitation of activities
    • Align programming experiences with student needs and goals
    • Provide meaningful, engaging and varied learning and social experiences for diverse learners
    • Develop relationships and encourage positive self-efficacy in all students

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Elementary license required
    • Highly Qualified required
    • Regular, on-time attendance is required
    • Demonstrated innovation in teaching
    • Ability to work collaboratively
    • Experience with project-based learning
    • Preference for staff who are InSciEd Out trained
    • Preference for staff familiar with students at the site

    QUALIFICATIONS:  Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required:  Moderate to Severe Mentally HDCP

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
    Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
    Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
    Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
