    Targeted Services (ASA) Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
    • Participates in planning prior to start of program
    • Prepares student classroom assignments and monitors enrollment and utilizes OLA for attendance
    • Assists in matters relating to students
    • Directs and manages matters relating to student discipline and behavior
    • Supervises the accounting, reporting, and monitoring of student attendance
    • Responds to student behavior issues and employs problem solving approach when appropriate
    • Coordinates and supervises student use of facilities, bus transportation, and related issues
    • Coordinates parent conferences relating to discipline and attendance
    • Supervises school-related activities as assigned by the building principal
    • Attends parent conferences when appropriate
    • Serves with parents, faculty and student groups in advancing educational and related activities and objectives
    • Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities as assigned
    • Use and promote instructional strategies as defined by the academic program
    • Support the individualized instruction and homework support in the areas of math, reading and writing as provided in the curriculum
    • Provide a safe and positive learning environment for students during the after school hours
    • Collaboration and communication with administrators, classroom teachers, parents and community partners
    • Plan and execute opportunities for parent involvement
    • Provide efficient and on-going assessments and reporting

    • Develop relationships and encourage positive self-efficacy in ALL students.

    Qualifications:
    • Current Minnesota teaching license required.
    • Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
    • Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
    • Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with Lexia, SuccessMaker, Read 180, Language!, Mathletics and Voyageur Math preferred
    • Bilingual skills preferred for many available positions
    • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
    • Ability to work in a team setting
    • Understanding of Best Practices as related to teaching basic skills
    • PBS training preferred
    • Preference for staff familiar with students at the site

    The Special Education ESP provides support to students at the school site with needs who qualify for special education services in various school environments. The position is also responsible for implementing aspects of the student's IEP (Individual Education Plan) under the direction of certified staff.  This can include instructional support, behavior management, health support, collecting data, and communicating academic and behavioral progress at the school site.   Percentage of time spent on essential duties and responsibilities will be dependent on the individual student's needs and abilities.
     
    • Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
    • Provide support to students with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed
    • Ability to work with a wide variety of students with different disabilities
    • Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
    • Consistent and accurate data collection of student progress on goals and objectives
    • Provide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related services staff
    • Knowledge using iPads and other devices used for communication of non-verbal students
    • Support students with de-escalation techniques and use restrictive procedures as needed (Training provided as needed).
    • Supervise students in various settings and locations in and around the school building, before, during and after school hours.
