    • Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.

    Essential Functions:
    • Complies with all School District, City, State and OSHA policies.
    • The Custodian Engineer 4 assumes charge of the building heating/cooling plant, HVAC and lighting systems for efficient operation.
    • Insures site is staffed appropriately for vacations and illness, notifies Supervisor if additional help is needed.
    • Makes minor repairs on building, building equipment and grounds.
    • Assist Supervisor in scheduling and training of staff as needed.
    • Provides and assigns additional work direction and assistance to 3 custodial staff as approved by Site Supervisor.
    • Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
    • Performs janitorial duties, and completes daily cleaning of assigned areas.
    • Organizes and cleans the receiving area, custodial storage areas and maintenance office.
    • Completes all required preventative maintenance request in a timely manner.
    • Completes required daily visual walk troughs of HVAC and electrical rooms to include roof top units.
    • Records all needed repairs, inspections, boiler checks and makes repairs as needed or directed. 
    • Ensures building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Coordinator of Facility Services and Site Principal.
    • Operates motorized equipment used for cleaning and snow removal.
    • Removal of snow/ice and application of snow melt around the building to insure safety.
    • Purchases and maintains inventory for cleaning supplies/equipment.
    • Provides a written schedule for summer cleaning for assigned site.
    • Provides instructions for nightly and weekend special event set ups and assigns appropriate coverage.
    • Performs a variety of cleaning and semi-skilled duties which includes but is not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing tables, windows, bathrooms, dusting, waxing, stripping floors, moving heavy furniture, etc.
    • Moves up to 50 pounds of project materials and/or tools to remote building locations.
    • Stands on ladders, and platforms lifts, at heights up to 30 feet for extended periods of time.
    • Performs essential maintenance to the facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: reaching, crouching; kneeling; shoveling; working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back.

    Required Skills:
