Position Summary:
The Bilingual or ELL Teacher provides direct classroom instruction to Bilingual students, collaborates with teachers, and provides guidance to bilingual teaching assistants.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Acts as an English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher
Engages teachers in intensive ELL instruction
Promotes a school-based professional community; serving as a resource to classroom teachers with ELL students
Possesses the ability to plan, implement and evaluate standards-based instructional programs and lessons.
Promotes a positive and collaborative culture within the school
Collaborates with staff, administration, district and lead partner on implementation of the Illinois Learning Standards (ILS)
Demonstrates knowledge of pedagogy, school improvement planning, and knows how to collect and utilize data to drive instruction.
Follows all expectations required of teachers according on the RIEA Contract Agreement and RIMSD Board Policies

Illinois Secondary Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement

Knowledge of and ability to speak, read and write in a non-English language
