Certified Tutors works closely with teachers to provide academic assistance and guidance to students for a minimum of two hours a day, two days a week.
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Under direct supervision of the principal, certified tutors will perform the following tasks:
1. Take an active role in developing the academic and personal strengths of students. 
2. Serve as a role model/mentor to students by being a lifelong learner, demonstrating appropriate academic and social behaviors, and wearing appropriate attire at all times.
3. Determine from student’s notes and discussions, the concepts that need to be taught or retaught.
4. Evaluate student binders, including calendars, class and textbook notes, etc.
5. Become familiar with the materials in the Libraries.
6. Become familiar with the textbooks and materials used by students.
7. Conduct tutorial sessions in all areas of mathematics; therefore, a strong math background is mandatory. 
8. Conduct mini-lessons in the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills, and other aspects of college preparation.
9. Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for students to follow.
10. Work with students in any phase of the writing process, such as brainstorming, clustering, revision, and editing.
11. Communicate frequently and honestly with the coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern.
Qualifications
Must possess valid S.C. Educator licensure.

Under regular supervision, performs specialized work by assisting teachers in instructing and directing the activities of special-needs students to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment.  Assists with the routine care and feeding of students as necessary.  Reports to the department head as assigned.
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
• Assists students with exercises and the preparation of materials for class activities; concentrates efforts with small groups of students and individuals as necessary.
• Reinforces all knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.

General Statement of Job
To create a comprehensive, systemic, inclusive, informed support network for parents, families, community partners and other stakeholders to promote parent and family engagement in schools to increase student achievement and school improvement.  Provide K-12 parent and family support and engagement opportunities to an assigned cluster of schools.  View parents, families, and community partners as equal partners in increasing the academic achievement of children.  Help parents understand the school system so that they can become better advocates for their children’s education.  Expand opportunities for continued learning, voluntary classroom service, and participation.  Train and advise parents regarding how to address issues dealing with situations that could impact the achievement of their students.  Ensure that schools are welcoming to all parents and families.  Provide specialized assistance to families of students who are not demonstrating grade level proficiency.  Build the capacity of parents and families to ensure that they take on more leadership roles in the various parent organizations in the schools.  Promote community collaborations and maintain the Parent, Family, and Community Resource Center.
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
• Work with school site staff to identify students not succeeding academically; engagement of their parents/guardians will be the primary focus of the Parent and Family Engagement Specialist.
• Interview parents of identified students to determine how to best support each family to help their children succeed.
• Help schools identify strategies that parents, families, and communities can use to support the elementary and secondary curriculum.
• Serve as the school’s liaison for the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) to ensure that the Epstein model is implemented with fidelity. 
• Provide services to parents if student behavior or attendance is impeding student progress.
• Work with school staff to monitor the progress of focus students and communicate this to the parents.
 
• Establish on-going communication with parents through home visits, phone calls, email, newsletters, website, social media, etc.
• Provide parent workshops that enhance the parents’ capacity to support their children academically.
 
• Acquire thorough knowledge of assigned Title I School Wide Plans in order to support and monitor implementation, specifically Part A, parent and family engagement.
• Serve as a technical assistance provider on the Title I Planning Team within assigned clusters.
• Ensure that the district’s Parent Engagement policy is disseminated and implemented.
• Coordinate the development of the Parent Advisory Council and ensure that it operates in accordance to the guidelines set forth by Title I.
• Conduct parent survey annually to determine their needs.
• Based on parent survey and comprehensive needs assessments create and or coordinate workshops, trainings, and activities for families.
• Provide resources related to the school’s needs and discuss the purposeful administration of effective strategies in family engagement.

• Meet with groups of students and parents to improve peer relationships and positive attitudes toward school.
• Make home visits to gather data and increase parents’ understanding of students’ educational needs and the resources available to them within the school and the community.

Minimum Training and Experience
Qualifications:  Requires a Bachelor's degree in the social sciences or education, supplemented by one to two years of work in the human services field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

General Statement of Job
Under limited supervision, works effectively with school personnel, community agencies and families of District students to alleviate any presenting problems or issues affecting students' abilities to maximize their academic and social development.  Coordinates special programs and activities as assigned.  Reports to the Coordinator of Social Work.
 
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
• Provides direct social casework and counseling services to individual students to help alleviate any presenting problems or issues affecting students’ abilities to maximize their academic and social development.  Develops attendance improvement plans, and makes recommendations on transfer request.
• Under the direction of the coordinator compiles and analyzes annual dropout information and attendance reports as required by the State Department of Education. 
• Prepares a comprehensive assessment of a students’ family, developmental and social histories prior to psycho-educational evaluations.
• Participates and provides consultation in student staffing (IEP, SIT, etc.)
• Works with the coordinator of social work to develop school attendance awareness projects with the goal of improved attendance throughout the district.
• Makes home visits to gather data, relive school-home difficulties, improve home to school communication and increase parents’ understanding of children’s educational needs and the resources available to tem within the school.
• Represents the District in meetings as required; provides testimony before the Hearing Board and Family Court as necessary.
• Works cooperatively with school and community agencies personnel regarding the needs of particular students.  Consults with other disciplines on student issues and assists in locating resources to meet the environmental needs of students and their families; makes appropriate referrals.
• Reports evidence of child abuse or neglect to the Department of Social Services, updates and informs schools of any changes in the child abuse and neglect law.
• May serve as a Field Instructor for social work students.
• May work with summer testing.
• May coordinate Medicaid activities, keeping parents informed of available services through Medicaid and Medicaid procedures.
• May assist in developing and implementing programs and services as part of a comprehensive drug and violence prevention/education program.

Minimum Education and Training

Physical Requirements:
