Classification: Certified Exempt - Full-Time (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)
Contract Period: 185 working days.
Salary Range
- *$54,000 to $82,320 (Based on education and years of relevant experience) Certified Salary Schedule *The annual salary listed above is based on a full-time, 8-hour workday (FTE 1) and a full working calendar. For positions with less than a full FTE or reduced hours, such as part-time or late-start positions, the salary will be prorated accordingly.

Position Overview
- The Dean of Culture plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and productive school environment. This position focuses on creating and upholding a school culture that promotes respect, accountability, equity, and high expectations for students and staff. The Dean of Culture works closely with faculty, administrators, students, and families to foster a supportive and engaging environment that enhances student success both academically and socially.
Necessary Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- MUST have an active Colorado Administration License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. If additional coursework or a preparation program is required, the applicant must provide proof of enrollment and submission of the required documentation to the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of employment.
Desired Qualifications and Core Compentencies
- Prior experience in education, with a strong background in student behavior management, school culture initiatives, or social-emotional learning. Leadership or administrative experience is highly desirable.
- Develop and implement strategies to cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture where students feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Establish and enforce behavioral expectations and school norms, ensuring they align with the values of respect, responsibility, and community.
- Create programs and initiatives that promote social-emotional learning (SEL) and student well-being.
- Actively promote a school environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Oversee and manage student behavior and discipline, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of school policies and procedures.
- Implement restorative justice practices or other alternative discipline strategies to address conflicts and foster personal growth.
- Work with students who exhibit behavioral challenges, providing interventions and support to help them succeed academically and socially.
- Track and monitor student behavior, analyzing patterns to inform decision-making and improvement strategies.
- Work closely with teachers and staff to create and sustain a classroom environment conducive to learning and mutual respect.
- Provide coaching and professional development to staff on best practices in classroom management, culturally responsive teaching, and building positive relationships with students.
- Support teachers in responding to behavioral issues, helping them implement strategies to engage students and maintain a positive classroom culture.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and the community, building partnerships with families and external organizations to promote student engagement and success.
- Support the development of student leadership programs that empower students to take an active role in shaping the school culture.
- Mentor student leaders and help them take on responsibilities related to creating positive change within the school.
- Implement initiatives that promote student voice and agency, giving students a platform to share their ideas and contribute to the community.
- Collect and analyze data related to school climate, student behavior, and academic performance.
- Use data to identify areas of improvement and to measure the effectiveness of cultural initiatives and interventions.
- Provide regular reports to school leadership on progress towards cultural goals and student behavior trends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to develop and implement behavior management systems and restorative practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address complex issues related to student behavior, conflict resolution, and school culture.
- A deep understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion practices, with the ability to implement them school-wide.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse student body and staff.
