POSITION: Classroom Teacher/ Science Teacher (9-12) at Valley Regional High School (full-time position)
Chemistry certification required; multiple certifications preferred
REPORTS TO: Valley Regional High School
QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate: Chemistry, 7-12 (031)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
Certification: Valid Connecticut State Board of Education teaching certificate with endorsement in Chemistry (endorsement code #031) or eligibility to obtain certification by the start date.
Experience: Prior teaching experience in high school chemistry is required.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of chemistry content and effective pedagogical strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Valley Regional High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time High School Chemistry Teacher for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry education and a commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement comprehensive chemistry curricula aligned with state and NGSS standards.
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in chemistry to high school students.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement efforts.
COMPENSATION: Salary and benefits, including health benefits, per group contract and salary schedule.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic School year, hours based on agred upon availability
