QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. Has to hold a valid PTSB Coaching Certficate, or obtain one within a year of being hired as coach.

REPORTS TO: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in 
conjunction with the high school principals 
JOB GOAL: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training 
necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same 
time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially 
acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of 
accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills 
through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc. 
GENERAL: 1. The success of athletic programs has a strong influence on the community's 
image of the entire system. The public exposure is a considerable 
responsibility and community/parent pressure for winning performance is 
taxing, but must not override the objectives of good sportsmanship and good 
mental health. 
 2. The position includes other unusual aspect such as extended time, risk injury 
factor and due process predicaments. 
 3. It is the express intent of this job description to give sufficient guidance to 
function. In cases not specifically covered, it shall be assumed that a coach 
shall exercise common sense and good judgment. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies.
2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and 
interprets them for staff. 
3. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through 
proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance. 
STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
4. Established the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff. Designs 
conferences, clinics and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program. 
5. Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance according 
to local clinic policy. 
6. Delegates specific duties, supervises implementation and, at season's end, analyzes staff 
effectiveness and evaluates all assistants. 
7. Maintains discipline, adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation. 
8. Performs such other duties which may be assigned by the athletic director/principal. 
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: 
9. Assists the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournament 
and special sport events. 
10. Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to 
scheduled facility times. Coordinates program with maintenance and school employees. 
11. Provides documentation to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, 
parental consent and eligibility. 
12. Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites. 
13. Advises the athletic director and recommends policy, method or procedural changes. 
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES: 
14. Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration in student athletes 
the character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. 
15. Gives constant attention to a student athlete's grades and conduct. 
16. By his/her presence at all practices games and while traveling, provides assistance, guidance and 
safeguards for each participant. 
17. Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is 
considered a participant. 
18. Initiates programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies. 
19. Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries on proper forms and submits to athletic office 
within 24 hours. 
20. Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians. 
21. Determines discipline, delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of 
discipline is necessary and contracts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible. 
22. Assists athletes in their college or advanced educational selection. 
FINANCE AND EQUIPMENT: 
23. Participates in the budgeting function with the athletic director by establishing requirements for the 
next season. Recommends equipment guidelines as to type, style, color or technical specifications. 
Is responsible for operating within budget appropriations. 
24. Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned. 
Arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and 
current records concerning same. 
25. Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing. 
26. Monitors equipment rooms and coaches' offices, authorizes who may enter, issue or requisition 
equipment. 
27. Permits the athletes to only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times. 
28. Examines locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking on general cleanliness of the 
facility. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of specific sport equipment.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
 
Essential Functions
 
• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.

• Maintains order and discipline in an effective and courteous manner among students being transported in accordance with district policies and procedures; reports any incidents involving student discipline.
• Observes and tracks route timing, such as total time en-route, time between stops, loading and unloading times or any other requested information for the purpose of establishing route efficiency, as requested.

• Follows procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any time, and that all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).

Reports To: Director of Instruction
 
General Duties:    This person works under the general direction of the Director of Instruction.  This administrator shall have prime responsibility for the Speech/Language Therapist’s performance.
 
Specific Duties:  
• Evaluates, diagnoses, and reports results on assigned students* as prescribed in state and local rules and regulations and district practice.
• Develops and implements an individual Education Plan for each student appropriate to each area of concern identified in the Multidisciplinary Team Report.
• Is responsible for screening, evaluation,  and diagnosis of kindergarten students to determine possible need for services.  Evaluations may include, but are not limited to, speech articulation, phonological, voice, and fluency as well as oral peripheral and language assessments.
• Provides specialized educational services and individualized instruction to each student as per his specific indicted needs.
• Provides for individual differences in student abilities and needs by using various materials, presentations, equipment, assistive technology, and evaluation techniques.
• Develops individual schedules to enable students to receive services in the least restrictive setting possible.
• Consults with regular educators of assigned students and suggests appropriate classroom instructional techniques, modifications, adaptations, equipment, and behavior management strategies which might improve the child’s educational performance.
• Maintains liaison with administrators, committee members, teachers, and parents relative to those children with whom the therapist is involved, in keeping with appropriate professional ethics.
• Is a member of and participates in Child Study, MDT, and IEP committee meetings when needed and as appropriate.
• Fulfills case manager duties for assigned students as prescribed in state and local rules and regulations.
• Keeps records of and monitors student progress as outlined by district Special Services policy and procedures.
• Acts as an advocate for all special education students.
• Conducts parent conferences as needed (minimum of two per student per year).
• Reports activities to Director of Instruction.
 
• Performs such other duties as requested by the Director of Instruction and building level principals.
 
*   Only students who have been referred, evaluated, and placed by the school’s Child Study, Multidisciplinary Team, or IEP committee shall receive services from said instructor.
 
Education/Certification/License:
 
• At least a Master's degree from an educational institution recognized by the Board.
• Submit evidence of clinical competency by verifying current ASHA or ABA certification.
• State Certification to practice as evidenced by current state licensure as an Speech/Language Therapist.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
