    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Active Colorado Teaching License with secondary subject endorsement.
    OR
    • Such alternatives or pending to the above qualifications as the Superintendent determines acceptable according to Colorado Department of Education standards.   
    REPORTS TO: Principal 
     
    JOB GOAL:  Develops, plans, and implements curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs for students within areas of expertise. Advises, evaluates, and teaches students in relevant academic subjects. Presents and reinforces learning concepts within a specified subject using Colorado State Standards as a guide.
     
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Manages the behavior of students in their classroom, hallways, and duty areas, by following GMHS values and Job Corps Behavior Management System and policies. Supervises students on and off campus during school hours and extracurricular educational activities.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    1. Plans, develops, and implements appropriate and engaging courses that adhere to the Colorado State Standards while also meeting the needs of the Job Corps time constraints and revolving enrollment.
    2. Implementing best educational practices developed and reflected from school board guidelines and the Job Corps PRH requirements.
    3. Actively participates in evaluation processes to demonstrate growth and development within the four Quality Standards as listed in The Colorado Teacher Quality Standards and the corresponding teaching elements in the rubric:
      1. Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach.
      2. Teachers establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
      3. Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students
      4. Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
    4. Mentors students in basic citizenship, leadership, and Career Success Standards as specified in state law, administrative regulations and procedures of the school district, and Job Corps. 
    5. Addresses student behavior and academic difficulties if/as they arise.
    6. Communicates with tact and professionalism with students and as appropriate to parents, other faculty, staff and principal.
    7. Evaluates and documents each student's growth and progress in the course(s) being taught.
    8. Administers standardized assessments in accordance with school, district and state laws and policies as needed.
    9. Provides means of differentiation within the curriculum and/or instruction to meet the needs of students. 
    10. Identifies students' needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems in a constructive manner.
    11. Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff and visitors.
    12. Maintains property inventory records as required by the school district and Job Corps. 
    13. Proficient with Google Suite and willingness to learn new software, applications and technologies.
    14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    16. Records attendance, evaluation, and progression data by school district and Job Corps requirements
    17. Participate in student evaluations and reviews implemented by the school district and/or Job Corps as needed.
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.
    Salary Schedule is available at www.pvsd50.org under Financial Transparency. 
    Scale begins at $52,262/year. 
    School is a 12 month facility, 214 contact days.
    All federal holidays are off.

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
